This is the brand new single release of the mighty Nuskool hero, Rory Hoy released on Bristol's DivisionBass Digital Records.
“New single sounds ace” - Fatboy Slim
We're dealing with an Oldskool funky disco house tune inspired a bit of Daft Punk cooked with a funky twist and proper for festive plays.
Rory Hoy ends up this year, raising a great funky fist of optimism for better days and a bright 2021 of big beats and heavy bass.
In a nutshell, a House promise for future burning nights on the dancefloor! You can realise that from an outstanding videoclip that came out these days, showing the.. future. Can't say enough when none else than the legendary Fatboy Slim was the first reviewing this new phenomenal uplifting release.
Available to stream and play (safe) via major digital platforms.
Berlin based label, Club Arrest Music (run by Rave queen Marusha) returns with a supreme single by a newcomer producer by the name Cabeabel. Cabeabel is a German producer based in Stockholm, Sweden and he's a visual artist and electronic music producer. His debut single on Club Arrest is titled 'Battle of the Elves' and it's a supreme Drum & Bass driven track just to wet your appetite before the launch of his personal album.
His influences are basically Hip Hop and anything around Electronic and Classical music as well as his relentless love for science as he's working also as a neuroscientist. Hence his album name will be called 'Neurophonique' and it's planned to come out next year.
How did Marusha feet about this release? You can watch it above...
And some words from the man himself who dropped his d&b debut battle...
"I am so happy to announce that my first song release under Club Arrest Music Berlin is coming up soon. Thank you so much @marusha_official for making this possible. You truly are an amazing person and one in a billion! Many thanks also to my dear work colleague Moa Pontén @moapon for her spectacular cello skills. Album is in the making. Stay tuned!"
A retrospective 3-track EP introduced by a massive gathering of Michael Jackson, New Order and Madonna. There are three versions of their classic tracks reworked on modern Breaks style, sounding tougher and dancefloor friendly. This is the new release from Kurly Kutz, once again for a good cause as 100% proceeds are going to The Mercury Phoenix Trust - an AIDS charity founded after the death of Freddie Mercury. Its out since 24th November, the day that the legendary performer Freddie Mercury passed away after fighting with AIDS...
Beware that on 4th December, Bandcamp are waiving their fees for the last time in this year so all proceeds go to the Artists and the Labels. A good bargain for a good cause.
Who remembers the 'Mistery Tour' by Obviously High from back in 1992? A record which is known off that Beatles sample, renovated in the year of Hardcore through Delirious Recordings. A label which brought into surface amazing records (e.g. 'Rush Hour' by The Moog).
In case you're unaware of it, Andrew Wright is the main man behind this great relentless success of side projects and co-running that label from back then. A man who has done exquisite records under many aliases such as The Moog, Rotor and affiliated with many acts like Justice & Mercy, Thrill Seekers and Obviously High, just to name a few.
The latter is a quintet project from UK, carrying a startling 8bit passion and they just came back with a new album right after 15 years. Why they chose this crazy year to unleash it? Most likely, because it's a year that has put us all in thoughts, in a kind of retro nostalgia. A time to evoke the right feelings and rise again.
'Maw Jaw' is the answer from this act, dispersed into 11 new tracks mixed up genres from progressive breaks to techno and oldskool bleeps including also a tribute to the late Ben Daglish, legendary composer for Commodore 64 etc.
All in all, this album is a modern approach to the early rave days and the early 90-91 vibes, that is available now to stream and buy on major digital platforms.
London based audio/visual artist (as well as Ableton live tutor) the man like RONIN, well-known of his Breakcore action the last 2 decades, has just returned with a self-personal release. After a several amazing row of bangers on various labels such as Heafuk, Jigsore, Erisian One Inch Punch, Bad Sekta, our hard hero has just launched his own imprint aiming to deliver his usual weapon of choice. His debut EP is entitled 'Audio 01' and consists of the harsh Breakcore 'Auto-Destruct-High Density'. A well boisterous and intellectual burner followed by 'Achieve Wickedness' which does it happen. A devastating acidic drum & bass sword of dancefloor turmoil. Seriously heavy both, moreover an outstanding intensive bass!
This double tracker will be available digitally on 27th November, however beware that Bandcamp are waiving their fees again on 4th December, so seems a good treat to support all Artists and RONIN apparently.
The year of 2020 is indispensably the worst of the 00s and so. However it's been a good amount of people out there keeping sane and open-minded transcend their vision to a higher level of creativity and optimism for a better future. ETHA is a good example of that. A young clothing brand based in Leeds run by an aspiring and talented duet aiming to deliver a variety and versatility of goodies such as T-shirts, hoodies, caps and more to follow.
Lots of quality collections, attractive designs with a stunning outlook. Take for example one of their best collections, Space Jam called (LINK)
From sci fi fantasty stuff to psychedelic, retro and trippy art, the crew behind ETHA are always hungry to deliver the most attractive gear for indoor and outdoor rave party or even your daily 'ravey' routine.
The original ravewear is right here, put out by a passionate duo doing it with love and devotion to the young generations with a homage to the Oldskool troopers. In addition, if you visit their Soundcloud page you can listen to various Guest mixes from up and coming names under various genres such as Drum & Bass or Hip Hop. These mixes are dropping every Wednesday at 18:00 [UK TIME]...
Shall we return to the main subject of this label? Fancy giving a watch on a typical ETHA day?
Sparki Dee is in the house! Or even better, out in the streets!
Brand new album from this great talented UK producer, who's offering his expression through the lockdown days. An album different from his previous works, keeping though the key atmospheric element of euphoria, peace and beauty of the rolling rhythms. That is Sparki's trademark all the way through his own journey, productionwise. 'On The Road' is the name of his new work available digitally and it just came out this week! As self-described, this 12-track well-put compilation of personal tracks sums up 'a tale of a musical journey through time, racking up the mileage as each track plays.'
We're dealing with a majority of Drum & Bass tracks fused with melodies and tough bassline, among his Nu-Rave approach on 'Rave New World' and the amazing outro track 'The Conclusion', which sounds a proper dank to this album. Favourite highlight and ideal ending to this story of 12 amazing tracks.
Music is the answer anyroad and you can ramble freely, by the sounds of 'On The Road'. Worth every penny for this one. Don't forget that on 4th December, Bandcamp are waiving their fees again and all proceeds go to the Artists & the Labels. Keep it in your list. A good treat for a good cause in times when musicians need more 'oxygen' to be supported by us out there.
UK based versatile human machine within the scene, Jay Cunning, presents a wonderful latest episode on his series of Interviews hosting an exclusive Interview with the Oldskool Hardcore king ACEN plus Luna-C on behalf of the 'Trip II The Moon' boxset on Kniteforce Records.
An amazing trip to Acen's own world, his early days and interesting stories behind his anthems till the current celebratory boxset!
An exciting campaign has been recently set up in the Kickstarter, this time by one of the mightiest UK duets in Happy Hardcore. It's Kingsize & Eternity, well-known from their successful rollers running also for a short time their own imprint, Class A Records.
The campaign is about getting on Vinyl a dubplate from 1997 called 'Muzik Is Da Key'.
"If we hit target, we can get it pressed with the dubplate version of You Belong To Me on the flip. Will need 75 backers at £10.00 or more to pay for the press."
16 days left... Beware of that and join in to add this gem into your Vinyl collection.
“RAVER” is set in London in 1989, the summer we remember as the second summer of love and loosely based on real-life events, Amazon would call it “fact-based-fiction”.
Words by Stephen Jaydell
Through the lens of an interrogation, (of sorts), we follow the life of Devon Walters, a veteran of the 1981 Brixton riots as he descends into the murky world pirate radio, rave promotions, cocaine and ecstasy. We follow him from dub-reggae sound systems of South London through to him somehow getting involved with Millwall hooligans and eventually into pirate radio and illegal rave promotions.
Fate and inevitability eventually catch up with him and he inadvertently gets involved with some gangsterish types, and is forced to promote what turns out to be the biggest outdoor illegal rave ever staged in the UK. On the way, his life spirals out of control as he struggles to deal with fatherhood, heroin, loss and mental health.
Most of the characters will be familiar to us all, they’ll be our mates, or mates of mates or even a small part of us, but it’s not really a story of drug dealing, football hooligans, city slicker wide-boys, steroid pumped psychopathic gangsters – although it of course deals with all these things. It’s a story about life, and what it was like to grow up in the 80s and 90s, which, (if I’m honest), was awesome, but also overwhelming (if we’re really-really honest with ourselves).
“RAVER” is part of a trilogy of books I’ve written over the past nine years, and is book number 2. The first book is called “Riot”, and set in 1981 dealing with the Brixton Riots, (of course, Devon has a hand in that!). The third book is called “Yuppie” and set in New York City in 1992 ish, and follows on from the end of “RAVER”.
“Riot” will be released early 2021.
I started to write for a couple of reasons. The first main reason is my mates and work colleagues would sit and listen to me drone on about my teenage years for ages, and eventually, to shut me up, they’d say “you should write a book”… which I did, 3 of them!
The second reason is close to my heart but I’ll share it anyway. Although nowadays I’ve a steady job now, house, car, wife and kids and all that, when I was at school I was an absolute nightmare, hated all types of authority and of course left with a couple of GCSEs and went to work on a building site. Reading, for me, was nothing but a chore and as a result I was pretty naive and uneducated. I’ve realised since, self educating is the only way to make something of your life – so, “RAVER” is written for normal everyday geezers like me in the hope we can get inspired to read more and perhaps even write something too. Knowledge is power, and education is a gift.
The third and final reason is a bit deep. I don’t know about you, but looking back on the 80s and 90s, it was mad and if I’m honest, I’m probably lucky to be alive. Similar to our main character, Devon, I had a brief spell in the music industry and released a few tracks on Global Dance Records, deejayed on pirate radio and did a few night clubs (mainly house parties though). Personally, I have struggled with mental health and I know a fair few other veterans of that era have too … so, the not so hidden message in “RAVER” is about mental health.
couple of classic tunes mentioned on the book
“RAVER” is independently published on Amazon in both Paperback and also Kindle. The publishing process is pretty simple to do on Amazon and I love that fact they are, in effect, destroying the traditional, snobbish, middle-class, cliquey publishing industry. Some academic types call it the “democratisation of knowledge”, which I like.
When I first finished “RAVER”, I sent it out to maybe 170 agents, I researched them all, saw who they represented and all that, but I found it really hard to get anyone engaged in the story… with feedback like, a) theres no market for anything to do with the rave scene (er-hello!) and b) we’re only interested in celebrity stories or established authors. It seemed that nobody would take a risk – which, in hindsight, actually turned out okay. I’ve been self-promoting on facebook and twitter and the support I’ve received from absolute strangers is phenomenal and awesome and kind of rekindled my love for social media. Everyone has been super kind, encouraging and really decent… reminds me, in the best of ways, of how I used to feel way back when, 3am in the morning with rushes up my spine. All I can say is “nice one”.
A1. Dave Skywalker - Out Of Darkness Came Light A2. Dj Dossa - Elevated B1. Simon Holmes - Future Echoes B2. Deluxe & Jow - Feel Alive (Manbearpig Remix)
DJ Deluxe is very proud to present the first 12" Vinyl release of his own imprint Lazarus Recordings. Steve has gathered all good troopers & friends producers of the label in order to deliver something fair enough big and culminate the buzz he's been offering throughout this year. A crazy year which finds him reborn through his EPs, his personal new album and a new series of podcasts running among Paul Bradley. Words are useless when we talk about producers like the well-known Hard hero Dave Skywalker, or Kniteforce Radio resident DJ Dossa (who's running a very prolific year of releases) Sharkfin Records boss Simon Holmes (back stronger!) and Manbearpig on a twist from a special joint by Deluxe & Jow. Rushing rhythms, slamming breakbeats and proper Hardcore dispersed through these 4 absolutely mental belters!
In a nutshell, this startling Vinyl debut of Lazarus Recordings is the pinnacle of DJ Deluxe 2020. It keeps on selling through the Kniteforce shop, receiving many airplays on the radio and allowing Deluxe to make plans for future vinyl EPs, revealing rcently the second strike. (link)

02. DJ Ronald Reagan - Salisbury Cathedral's F__k Off Spire (Russian Tourism Board Edit)
03. Humb - Obligatory Stab Track
04. Humb - 4 Friends (Denham Audio and Humb Remix)
2020 the year of Covid19. So what?
A creative collective over Vietnam becomes one fist in order to create the right buzz and survive through this hard period. The name of this team is Döner Beat and they've recently launched as a label. Their first release is a new digital weapon of four belters for a deep modern clubbing with the likes of various artists from the label and mainly..friends!
Kicking off with '4 Friends' by Humb, one of the founding members of Doner Beats, well-known of his action and releaes with Jigcore Sound, Long Live The Animals, UK Jungle, Bill Up Recordings (just to name a few). Humb strikes back with an unexpected track to hear from him, since he's been mostly into heavyweight styles. He's put the #DietJungle short description among his track on Soundcloud, which means apparently something lighter than anything else he did before. This track goes deep down to the mystic paths of a warehouse transferring himself and the listeners to the early days of bleeps and breakbeats..
The second track from this EP introducin us the man like DJ Ronald Reegan. The man who wants to make American ACID again. And yet his new track pays homage to the early Sheffield sounds with a very catchy groove in it, plus rave synths and acid bits. 'Obligatory Stab Track' is the second personal offering by Humb! An ode to the early days (again) of the Hardcore Techno sound, inspired by R&S you can tell. A fierce vibe that will keep your head buzzing till the quarantine is over... Denham Audio from Sheffield, one of the most prolific acts the last years, have submitted the one and only remix of this release, giving their own twist on '4 Friends' with their unique rollin 808 direction, closing this incredible debut by the Doner gang.
You may grab your copies now via Bandcamp by showing your kind support to the real Doners!
North UK's Erupt Records is one of those labels that were born during this crazy year. Their debut EP came out on CD and Digital format, entitled 'It's The Personality That Counts' including personal tracks by Uncle Duckling. A release, which is announced to be out on Vinyl as well early of next year. Till then you can taste their brand new shot. A Jungle Breaks weapon made by Quantum Possession Audio head honcho, the man like Bright Lights. Back after a hiatus productionwise, Bright Lights brighs his Hardcore Rave knowledge and passion onto his new single track called 'You Time (Intellirave Pt.1)'. Catchy and trippy melodies meet hard breakage and Future Jungle flavours.
Off to the north part of UK now, presenting the man like Noisevandal, a passionate producer/DJ, who likes to experiment most of his time with his hardware synths and drum machines.
He's been collecting Vinyl records since he was 10 years old, back in the early 90s, and the sound from that time has stayed with him. Influenced by Bleep & Bass, Breakbeat Hardcore and other early 90s underground noise, he's dabbled in music production in the past. However, good things happened a year ago, when he re-set his studio up again using Ableton and growing a collection of vintage synths and drum machines from around the time of his most loved tunes from the early 90s.
This was a good boost and a good push that allowed him to recreate the sounds he loves most.
It all happened when some months ago he got a message from Pat Scott (owner of the legendary label of Ozone Recordings) saying that he liked a tune from his Soundcloud page. The rest is history. This tune's entitled 'Stay Home' and it became Noisevandal's first official release. Breakbeats combined with guitars on a mystic trip of eerie and dark vocals and pads.
It's mad but simultaneously fair enough getting a debut release over a great label like this one... This tune gets the attention needed. The reason is because Noisevandal likes experimenting with sounds in general and will always try to cook something distinguished. After it, he's worked again with the track remixing it, doing the 'Heavins Mix' and now he's extremely glad to see this release and his music project getting recognition. 'Stay Home' is a relevant track for these days, the early days of the new lockdown and a good chance showing support to this 'new' producer, who saw the surface and is determined to offer more in the near future.
The legendary 2 Bad Mice, basically the 2/3 of them, Si Colebrooke and Sean O' Keefe join the forces and get into life a fresh label, and as it seems a bit different from the others.
For all we know, this new label will actually continue the legacy of the pioneering label of Moving Shadow and take it further... It was all confirmed after a 'family' meeting in a London's pub and the rest is history, that it's about to be written from now on with golden letters of quality.
Over/Shadow was born during a crazy year like this one, but it promises to showcase and highlight the Artists and their tracks. To be precise with every single release and look after every single track. All in all, they seemed determined to take care of the quality control and the character of this aspiring new label. Suffice to say that their first release is already confirmed and it's a personal EP by the unique Blame (aka Conrand Shafie) well known of his remarkable 'Music Takes You' one of the most powerful releases of Moving Shadow back in 1992.
As stated on an article feature from Love The Bass, 'Lift Off/Star Traveller' by the mighty Blame is set to be the first release!
The legendary BreaksFM, representing Bass culture and hard beats, is about to relaunch. There will be a lot of the usual suspects in the radi odj team, the well known stalwarts of the station as contributors to the new reborn station. And for the fans of Meat Katie, Whole 9 Yards, Lot 49, Lowering the Tone, BreaksFM will run a long feature on Meat Katie next month. There will be a Q/A and you can fire up your questions to the man himself. You can leave your question to the new BreaksFM group on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/breaksfm2021/
Apart from that, there will be also a competition giving away some Meat Katie goodness. This is the big return after a 13 years hiatus. BreaksFM will be back again broadcasting in January 2021, A stream event is planned for December 7th as a taste of what's to come in January and also a Reunion album is planned to be released for the next summer.
Kurly Kutz returns once again on Bandcamp Day with one more exciting release. This time's more exciting than ever, cuz we're dealing with a triple album of 36 manic panic tracks! All tunes are part of a personal treasure created by DJ Sinister, a Greek producer DJ based in Australia the last couple of years, and also a resident dj of Kniteforce Radio.
'Temple of Dust' is the title of his outstanding material, which features tracks from over two decades alongside some fresh tunes made by pure feelings of passion, melancholy and shivers of Rave.
His influences are names such as Luna-C, Acen, Andy C, The Prodigy, Moving Shadow stuff as well as carrying some fond memories of Greek and Aussie raving in the pre-Covid19 eras.
Let's get an insight into some tunes of this huge album .. 'Think Twice' is his personal favorite offering from there. A deep melancholic tune that stands out on his tastes. 'Flashback' is inspired by the experimental zone of vibes while 'Time Loop' is a splendid journey of 'fastcore' as he'd calls it due to the massive drum edits and the rushing acid lines. 'Valley of the Stars' has an intro of epicness, influenced more from the Happy Hardcore 4-beat oldskool styles. 'Temple of Dust', the self titled album track, goes ruff & tuff onto the abyss of the underground, introducing the early days of darkcore.
'Fallen' provides a wild love with its unique melody, an inner trip to his personal moments over in Greece among his buddies. A superb track by all means!
'Time Out' is proper 1994 ruff style combining smashing breaks and even a.. hardcore guitar part! 'Eye Contact' mixes pumping Techno with big drops and breakdowns, many sound effects and oldskool samples ready to drive you nuts. 'Jungle Berry' will touch you with a tribalistic massive bassline. 'Racing Cinderella' was made last year; touching down some oldskool 1991 buzz, takes you to another dimension.
'Valium Knights' is one of his personal favorites made last year. It's all about the epic intro melodies and it's a good example of his after hours work in all tracks. The night is Sinister's close friend. 'Elevation' comes from the easy goin dub side of rave with heavy beats, personally remind us a bit of Chemical Brothers mid-90s style.
Anything else for the rest? You can find it out on your own... Grab your copies now, a strictly for the headstrong varied Drum & Bass dish given by Sinister's soul.
