'Roffadamn Jungle' by Mike Redman gets six new remixes

Mike Redman - Roffadamn Jungle [Original]
Roffadamn Jungle [Instrumental]
Roffadamn Jungle [Bizzy B Remix]
Roffadamn Jungle [Deformer Remix]
Roffadamn Jungle [Ed Rush Remix]
Roffadamn Jungle [Mackadena's IllyNoiz Remix]
Roffadamn Jungle [Rotterdam Terror Corps Remix]
Roffadamn Jungle [Akira's Concrete Jungle Remix]

Two years ago the established Dutch hard hero, Mike Redman (Deformer/Voodoom) released a massive stormer under the name 'Roffadamn Jungle' through his own Redrum Recodz.
The track is a successful mixture of British Jungle vs pure Rotterdam Hardcore and it aims to show some homage fo the nightlife of Rotterdam. This tearing out banger features also guest vocals wth the likes of Bigman Scep, Swift and Dart and it has an official video that stands out fair and square.
Recently, this musical weapon of Dutch appreciation, saw an even bigger release; a result of a joint between PRSPCT Recordings and Redrum Recordz. There are six new remixes that come along on vinyl and digital format and they are simple icing the cake of the success that this banger has created since 2021.

As officially stated:
" This time around he’s supported by the most legendary artists in the field providing stunning remixes. Such as UK Drum ‘n Bass heroes Bizzy B and Ed Rush, both founders of the genre, providing remixes that knock you off your socks. He’s also teamed up with hardcore legends Akira, Rotterdam Terror Corps as well as Mackadena providing that original sound of Rotterdam. Not to mention Redman’s own ear-shattering remix under his alias Deformer, making this album a must-have for anyone that likes it ruff. By the way, the cover art by legendary graffiti artist Cosh is worth framing too!" - PRSPCT

LABEL:: The versatility of Yen Disco Soundsystem

Yen Disco Soundsystem is a Japan/Singapore based label and it was originally founded in the hard period of the pandemic. From their 2020 debut LP 'YENWORLD' the label has thrived in between various genres putting no boundaries or specific identity to their style, but a constant hard work to deliver an enjoyable journey into different chilling or hard electronic paths. Noteworthy to say that there are loads of japanese instruments as stated (e.g. shamisen), which are being sampled and tied up with modern techniques.

The official logo of the label is credited to their manager MZA who's also a designer and an avid lover of music, expressed either through production or DJing (running a show at HKCR radio of Hong Kong). Also, he's the main man behind ZŪJAGO; a platform that showcases all things around Japanese jazz.

" The idea of using the word “Yen” was probably because it represented money and it felt hip hop in the way of Biggie and Diddy. Having “Soundsystem” at the end just tied everything together and had a nice ring to it. Almost makes it feel like it was a massive booming entity." - MZA (Source)

MZA has recently released a personal tune on the very fresh and hilarious new chapter of Hardcore Energy from the UK. The track that's called 'Telegraph 30' steps on an early breakbeat style reminiscing the good old days of '91.

'The Sound of Yesterday's Future'

Digging into the Bandcamp world of YDS, you can find one of the latest offerings from MZA, that goes under the title 'dharma delight'. It is a digital 4-track EP and you can donate, name your price to your upcoming Bandcamp Day hamper.

Are you wondering what to expect from this release?

As it is officially stated, this EP deals with a voyage into hard experimental sounds, drawing influences from jungle, breakbeat hardcore and rave.
"dharma delight" sees MZA further pushing his sound deeper into jungle and dance music thoroughly amping up the BPMs. Through the four track EP, he puts on his sunday best drawing thematic inspiration from a time of youth growing up playing gospel music in church to elements of Zen interspersed through the music.
The EP opens with dual tracks exploring elements of rave and hardcore with a preacher-like conviction, at times euphoric and throughly demanding your call to action. Leading to the rapturous breaks and rumbling heaven-shaking bass of "shambhala", while the last title track soundtracks the new dawn of personal sonic enlightenment through hard hitting breaks interlaced with dubby horns and sub-aquatic voices from beyond (A nod to certain sub-aquatic sonic heroes).
Culminating into a collection that celebrates life, the vigors of the dance floor and his own take on the sounds of the 90s UK underground revival.

" When I was seven a kid in my class told me he was half-Christian, half-Buddhist. I thought he was nuts back then but heck this EP is kinda the same way. That feeling of euphoria on the dance floor isn’t really that much different from attending Sunday service and watching people pass out from being overcome by the spirit. In that same spirit I wanted to recreate that feeling while exploring some deep Eastern ideas interpreting it into beeps and bloops." - MZA (Source)

A slamming new EP by Breaking Saints

Breaking Saints is the name of a new collaboration between Deejay LoK and Dan Lethal, two old college friends, who teamed up through this imprint in order to deliver either solo or collab works under a mutual passion and culture.
Deejay LoK has been djing for the last 25 years and he's the official DJ for MysDiggi (ex Mystro), while the Drum & Bass dj/producer, Dan Lethal (aka Lethal) carries the same musical passion, managing also the label of Surround Sound Recordings. Eventually, a multigenre taste of sounds has led them two to release something extravaganza within the Nu-Rave scene.

" Returning to our 7” series of old skool rave inspired releases comes the Breaking Saints duo, comprising of Dan Lethal & Deejay LoK. Here they deliver a hefty, vibes a plenty, breakbeat bomber known as 'Swanning About'. They both take a side each and give it their own mix, Dan's rolling with a tuff rave ready bleepy mash up killer, whilst LoK steps the tempo up a notch and brings the breaks into an early jungle techno style, with rave stabs and more big ass bass dropping in half way through. Airhorn crew where u at?!! " - Concrete Castle Dubs
In contrast with Dan Lethal, who has already released through vinyl, this is the first vinyl release of LoK and it got him very excited and energized to keep up things. It's a fact that the boys have been already working on the next material.
However, this time Concrete Castle Dubs delivers something not for the faint-hearted. Bare in mind that this EP comes out on an orange & black splatter 7" pressing in a clear polybag, mastered by Sumgii. Also, it comes with a bespoke Concrete Castle Dubs sticker while stocks last. Of course, there is also the digital option.

'Swanning About' is the name of this great new super weapon that marks one of the best sophisticated releases of this year. None would ever sleep on a new project held by two hungry and inspired men through a remarkable label run by the don Disorda.
Add to that the great deal of Concrete Castle Dubs joining the KFD (Kniteforce Distribution) membership.

'Brainfade' by Obsidian Wave

Way from the underground, Obsidian Wave returns with some freshness of his usual heavyweight beats. 'Brainfade' is the title of his 2-track digital release, coming through the UK established label, Torre - the right label for this purpose. Bare in mind that it is not a coincidence at all that the man himself has recently launched a new joint project among Skin Teeth and Rawtrachs called We Kill Culture. This project is just icing the cake and sums up the 140 bpm 'bass in your face' revolutionary sound that each one of them three deliver on their own.

" Is obsession the right word? There is certainly an element of need involved, but is this vital or fabricated? Is it a nurtured habit? A crutch? or is it something more substantial? I don't know, but what is hard to argue is that this need seems inexhaustible. The destination always fluid. Horizons shifting. The process often feels like trying to recreate the memory of a scent. It is an unattainable task that conversely has a validity of its own. "

We Rob Rave as summer navigators

" Let us take you on a journey through the beaches and palms of the best and wildest summer. We will make sure that all your musical needs are taken care of and that you will have a pleasant stay at We Rob Rave Island." - We Rob Rave
This quote is taken from the latest, and ninth so far, album by the Polish duet We Rob Rave. The boys have been showing a prolific energy the last couple of years, unleashing some fabulous tracks that expose their rank within the underground.

This 9th digital album introduces a strictly summer topic on a new ravey island, hence it's release date that is mid of August. This musical new weapon encourages all listeners to go to the beach and either spend some chilling time or bang on the hard clubbish rhythms. These vibes will revoke memories from the late 90s trance and house classics, till the final track which had to be dealing with the renowned greek paradise, so from the anthemic 'Greece 2000' by Three Drives, they switched to the apocalyptic 'Greece 2049'.

Back then, there were people like Christopher Colombus, Marco Polo and Vasco da Gama but to name a few, who discovered new areas and the new world. But wow things look different as the 21st century belongs to people who explore and experiment with new genres and navigate rave sounds under their own wings. As high as it can get, the boys played fair during this summer and WRR 9 comprises one of the greatest nu-rave soundtracks of 2023.

'Need Love': The new EP by Smolny

Bourassa is back and serving us a scorching new summer hit. This time, label boss Smolny doesn't hold back, unleashing a powerful holiday anthem titled 'Need Love'.

If you're truly in dire need of some love, this track is definitely for you! It starts off slowly and nostalgically, seasoned with a distinct amen break. The growing tension sends shivers down your spine, while a beautiful trance chord intertwines with a long pad in the background. Adding to the flavor is a twisted female vocal that seductively flirts with your senses. It all culminates in a euphoric experience, gradually building up to release the accumulated energy. Finally, everything explodes as a strong and expressive bass line hits you like a ton of bricks. The following track 'Running' takes a more tranquil approach, transporting us to a dreamy realm. Broken drums keep propelling us forward, never allowing us to pause. The melodic chord gracefully emerges, creating a chill atmosphere and setting the mood. After the breakdown, grooving bongos complete the picture. The B-side features two fantastic remixes of the title track, 'Need Love'. The first one is a fierce breakbeat roller from Denham Audio. With its powerful bass and mesmerizing droplets cascading in the background, it creates a distinct hypnotic atmosphere. The change in bassline to the typical speed garage sound delivers an even more potent punch at the end. The second remix is crafted by SLG, who flawlessly captures the sound of the '97s, creating a track in the progressive trance style from that era. A brilliantly composed bass line constantly propels the track forward, building tension alongside the melodic line. A real dance floor killer!

A special heavyweight joint between Rognvald and Mokit

A true showdown between the Junglist Don known as Rognvald and the Hardcore superstar Mokit.

A heavyweight joint like the one between Rognvald and Mokit, can be always a hot topic within the scene. Two amazing producers that can even go beyond their usual musical tastes.

Their latest digital collaboration is entitled 'Warehaus Rave EP' and it has an interesting background and long story and it was activated in the early pandemic days. Sam Mokit has talked to us about his connection with Richard Rognvald:
"When I met Richard about 5 years ago we kind of hit it off and just started making tunes with each other. He eventually asked if I would want to do version of these tracks and we'd release it as an album, I obviously said yes and worked on my parts over 2020 and 2021. Richard can make tracks in anywhere from a few hours to over months but his side was probably made over a year. I took about 9 months to do a first draft of my 4 tracks and following some mix down and mastering feedback I made changes to make the mix more punchy and appealing. All in all the album has been a 3-year make but the wait for release was actually all my doing as I just kept tweaking little bits. This is something you should never do haha."

Mokit has admitted that it was actually Rognvald helping him to keep his nose to grindstone in times when he has lost a lot of steam productionwise around 2019.
"This year through my adventures and gigs I have found a real love for making fast tunes again and meeting ravers from all over the UK and Europe really made me want to keep going. I don't feel as much pressure now to 'want to make it' as in a soppy sense I already have. Instead I just want to make songs cause it makes me happy and when theyre released they make others happy too." - Mokit

Suffice to say that in the end this collaboration has upgraded the duo's mutual vibe, hence a formation of a very different project under the name Country Bumpkins. Anyway, you can stream their album to get to know their odd path, on this link
"Even in some of the more recent Beatwife or Rognvald releases you'll hear my voice or my bass playing as part of the composition. When you work with Richard you end up learning that all recordings have many uses and can be placed in lots of songs, so that one riff ends up becoming the inspiration for a new jungle track." - Mokit

The 'Warehaus Rave' EP is comprised of eleven tracks of hard rave attitude and pure talent, and it is available to download through Bandcamp. A good bag for the upcoming Bandcamp Day that is 4th of August.
