During the jungle scene's Golden years of 1994 and 1995, DJ Monk owner of the legendary KLP Records label oversaw a steady flow of underground jungle classics before disappearing into the ether. However the label returned with a vengeance in 2014 to deliver a contemporary take on the vintage, dancefloor orientated jungle formula. 2017 sees DJ Monk unveil his most ambitious project ever with the release of the mammoth 'KLP Records Presents The Remixes LP - Past Present + Future' album. Featuring 15 exclusive remixes of classic and current  KLP anthems, from a combination of legendary jungle artists and the scenes hottest new talent. It's time to reinforce those bassbins in preparation!!!

The LP kicks off with DJ Hybrid's steppin' remix of Crisis & Ikon B's 'Kills Every Sound', which receives a warm, yet moody Reese Bass makeover and is soon followed by DJ Monk's very own '95 classic, 'Dance Hall Style' gets a roughneck, rework from Kool FM resident DJ Choppah. Up next Papa G's 'Unity (Sound Shifter Remix)' takes things back to the days when dub bassline pressure and fierce amen-break choppage ruled the dance, before the original jungle Terrorist, Ray Keith drops a deep and atmospheric amen roller for his reinterpretation of Monk's 'Deal Wit It'.

Regular KLP collaborator, Lion-UK's sees his 2015, ragga-jungle classic, 'Inner Heart' get a steppin', disco flavoured re-lick from the inimitable DJ QTwhich is soon followed by DJ Monk's undisputed, X-rated ragga masterpiece, 'I Spy (Eye Nuh See)' which receives a minimal, and menacing re-fix from the mighty Serum & Serial Killaz. Ikon B & Crisis drop a head-nodding dub-reggae flavoured reworking of Inna Culture's smoker's anthem, 'Ganja Man' which is backed up by Dapz' tearing, gangsta-jungle revamp of the 1995 DJ Monk classic, 'Nu Jack City'

Lion-UK returns the favour for his energetic makeover of DJ QT's 'Jungle Riddim' by injecting a bubbling bassline which will get all jump up crews bouncing. DJ Monk's 'Deal Wid It' makes it's second appearance with DJ Vapour's heavyweight, drum & bass update before Papa G takes Ikon B & Crisis' 'Stop Fighting' and lays down a generous helping of ragga jungle vibes. DJ Monk with Aries at the controls rewinds us back in time with the soon-to-be junglist anthem, 'Jungle Tempo', which drops a heavyweight selection of steppin' breaks, reggae bass and classic dancehall chatting.

Lion-UK's hip-hop meets R&B tinged jump-up classic, 'Freaky Fly Gal' receives an expert, dancefloor friendly revamp from the DJ Monk himself before we are introduced to Inna Culture's exhilarating 2-step, D&B/jungle hybrid of the legendary 'I Spy (Eye Nuh See)'. Bringing the collection to a perfect close we have DJ Monk's definitive 1994 junglist anthem, 'Good Body Gal' which is delivered into capable hands of Serum who layers crisp beats and gnarly bass blasts over the original's iconic vocals.

For anyone who has been following the jungle scene from it's 1994 pinnacle right up to it's present day incarnation, the 'KLP Records Presents The Remixes LP...' album will be an essential addition the collections of all junglists, oldskool or nuskool alike!!!
The 'KLP Records Presents The Remixes LP - Past Present + Future' album is available to purchase now from all good KLP Records digital stockists on 16/01/17, so get onnit! No excuses!!!
