[BOOM00063] Sound Shifter - Style Snatchers Vol III [Boomsha Recordings Exclusive Beatport Pro Pre-Release Available Now!!!]

1/ Day Rising.

2/ Sentient Realm.

3/ 94 Bad.

4/ Day Rising (Schoco's Last Sunrays Remix).

5/ Sentient Realm (X-E-Dos Remix).

6/ 94 Bad (Wellbelove Remix).

As we get nearer to the Xmas festive season, Boomsha Recordings deliver yet another selection of the finest jungle vibes with the release of the bumper 'Style Snatchers Vol III' EP from the infamous Sound Shifter. Featuring three original tracks and three tearing remixes spanning from stepping 140bpm jungle breaks to breakneck speed jungle rinse-outs.

The sweeping sounds of opening track, 'Day Rising' opens 'Style Snatchers Vol III' to a hypnotic soundscape of funk flavoured, 2-step breaks and soothing female vocal sighs before we are taken into into the 'Sentient Realm'. An exhilarating piece of intelligent future junglism, expertly layered with lush, soaring pads, booming bass notes and rolling amen breaks. '94 Bad' up next delivers a 2016 update to that classic oldskool sound with it's combination of melancholic piano keys and mid-nineties, roughneck jungle tropes - with police sirens, ragga chatter, thunderous bassline and 'nuff chopped amens.

Boomsha regular, Schoco takes the tempo back down a few notches with his epic and atmospheric re-envisioning of 'Day Rising' before we are introduced to a thoroughly stepping, liquid rinse-out of 'Sentient Realm' by the inimitable X-E-Dos. The collection is brought to a perfect close by the positively tearing remix of '94 Bad' by original  oldskooler Wellbelove (aka Dom Fripp of Tango & Dom, Chaos & Juila Set fame), who delivers an intense blend of heavyweight amen breaks and subtle, techno elements.

With 'Style Snatchers Vol III', Sound Shifter and his collective of remixers present a 'must have' selection of jungle styles, from chilled, atmospheric rollers, to rugged breakbeat choppage. If you love all things jungle, then this will be an essential addition to your collection!!!

The Sound Shifter 'Style Snatchers Vol III' EP is available to purchase now as an exclusive Beatport Pro pre-release for 2 two weeks before going on general release to all digital download stores. So bag an exclusive for your sets quick before everyone else does!!!

Boomsha Recordings are back again with another fine selection of sublime, future jungle cuts from frequent label contributor, Schoco, who presents his brand new 'Thoughts EP' featuring vocal contributions from Sam Serenader and Loudspeka and a mighty remix from the Sound Shifter.

The 'Thoughts EP' opens with the epic, vocal drum & bass future-anthem, 'Freedom Dont Cost', which sees vocalist Sam Serenader lend her distinctively emotive voice to Schoco's snappy breaks, sweeping strings and a gentle melodic bassline, which you just can't help but get drawn in by. Sam returns again with the contemplative 'Believe' up next. Combining gloriously sweeping, atmospheric pads and gentle chiming notes backed by a rugged future jungle, breakbeat pattern, 'Believe's message of positively shines through both lyrically and musically.

'Second Depression' kicks off the second half with it's beautifully crafted blend of melancholic melodies and flow of consciousness freestyling from spoken word artist Loudspeka, underpinned by a solid 140 bpm breakbeat pattern. The EP is brought to a close by Sound Shifter's future jungle remix of 'Freedom Dont Cost', which fuses the original's lush atmospherics with an intense Apache break backing and a dark, warped bassline complimented by flashes of mentasm stab screeches to create a perfect balance of light and dark touches.

If expertly produced, breakbeat driven music, steeped in gorgeous atmospherics, thought provoking vocals, ticks your boxes then Schoco more than delivers the goods with the 'Thoughts EP'. Don't hesitate. Grab your copy now!!!

First off we are introduced to Sam Serenader's yearning, life-affirming vocals which are soon accompanied by a combination of sweeping strings and minimalist, snappy breaks. 'Freedom Don't Cost' soon steps things up gear by dropping a rolling breakbeat and head-nodding bass notes that are destined to get everyone moving their feet.
On the flipside, Sound Shifter presents his own reinterpretation by drifting away from the original version's soulful, liquid leanings by fusing a monstrously heavy, apache break accented breakbeat pattern complimented by harsh mentasm stabs and soaring pads alongside snippets of Sam's vocals to create a perfect blend of rough and smooth future jungle.

[DEEPIN 016] Sound Shifter - Junglist Fever [Out Now On Deep In The Jungle Records!!!]

1/ Rollerz Paradise.

2/ Junglist Fever.

3/ Ancient Technology.

4/ Fire Child (featuring Lady Emz).

Deep In The Jungle Records return to wreak havoc on your bassbins with a mighty 4-tracker from the indomitable Sound Shifter with the 'Junglist Fever' EP.

Kicking off with a 'Rollerz Paradise' a flashback to '95-'96, where thumping junglistic bass, airhorns, soulful female R&B vox and tear-out your chest amen breaks meet with menacing rap vocals. The tempo doesn't let up with 'Junglist Fever' which delves into fistfuls of classic jungle samples and scatters them over rolling amens and thunderous reversed bass.

My personal favourite, 'Ancient Technology' sees Sound Shifter drawing influence from the filthy tech-step of labels like No-U Turn, Droppin' Science and Prototype with heavyweight 2-step breaks melding with eerie female vocals and a monolithic Reese bassline. After all the aggressiveness and moodiness of the previous tracks, come down track 'Fire Child' closes the EP in a more soulful manner with soothing, sweeping synths, backed by rugged amen breaks accompanied by the gorgeous vocals of Lady Emz.
