As we get nearer to the Xmas festive season, Boomsha Recordings deliver yet another selection of the finest jungle vibes with the release of the bumper 'Style Snatchers Vol III' EP from the infamous Sound Shifter. Featuring three original tracks and three tearing remixes spanning from stepping 140bpm jungle breaks to breakneck speed jungle rinse-outs. 

The sweeping sounds of opening track, 'Day Rising' opens 'Style Snatchers Vol III' to a hypnotic soundscape of funk flavoured, 2-step breaks and soothing female vocal sighs before we are taken into into the 'Sentient Realm'. An exhilarating piece of intelligent future junglism, expertly layered with lush, soaring pads, booming bass notes and rolling amen breaks. '94 Bad' up next delivers a 2016 update to that classic oldskool sound with it's combination of melancholic piano keys and mid-nineties, roughneck jungle tropes - with police sirens, ragga chatter, thunderous bassline and 'nuff chopped amens. 

Boomsha regular, Schoco takes the tempo back down a few notches with his epic and atmospheric re-envisioning of 'Day Rising' before we are introduced to a thoroughly stepping, liquid rinse-out of 'Sentient Realm' by the inimitable X-E-Dos. The collection is brought to a perfect close by the positively tearing remix of '94 Bad' by original  oldskooler Wellbelove (aka Dom Fripp of Tango & Dom, Chaos & Juila Set fame), who delivers an intense blend of heavyweight amen breaks and subtle, techno elements.

For the very latest album from Boomsha Recordings, prolific drum & bass producer, Pixel takes us on an epic, genre spanning journey with the release of his 15 track, bassbin bothering magnum opus 'Into The Unknown'.

Pixel kicks off the album with 'Into The Unkown', a menacingly dark and moody downtempo track utilizing UK rapper, Tradmark Blud's venomous lyrical skills to devastating effect before the gorgeous uplifting atmospherics of future jungle track,  'Daybreak' takes us out of the darkness into the light. 'Hal' conjures up deep cinematic visions set to a rugged breakbeat rhythm, cavernous bass pulses and classic science fiction movie dialogue. The luscious 'Me Forever You (An Ode To Terri)' puts our minds at ease with it's sultry fusion of Oriental flutes, dub effects and booming bassnotes before we become re-energised by Pixel and Skorpz's tear-out amen rinseout, 'Sleepy Hollow'.

The ominous and sinister 'Unidentified' opens to crackly radio recordings describing a UFO sighting, set to a dark and heavy future jungle backdrop, to create an atmosphere of unease which just portents to forthcoming danger. Whereas 'Sensualis' envelopes the listener in immense swathes of warm bass, stepping breaks and swelling pads peppered with sensuous female sighs. 'Kids In The Rain' steps up the pace by fusing mellow soaring pads, gentle synth melody and weather effects with an energetic breakbeat rhythm and deep, yet sparse bassline. Blood joins with Pixel on 'The Tomb' next, to conjure up a fiercely moody, roller with an intense amen break switch up on the drop which is then joined by the equally heavyweight 'piece of tech-step era, dirty bass infused 140 jungle 'Tinnitus'. 

'Master Of Swords' takes us into the latter third of the album and plunges up deep amidst a veritable breakbeat and bass vs vintage martial arts flick sample-fest battle whilst the philosophically themed 'The Origin Of Life' dials down the tempo once more to the sound of gentle pads, soothing bass rhythms and layered Apache/Amen breaks.  'Tinnitus' then receives two thundering remixes next, firstly from the legendary Bay B Kane, who presents us with his apocalyptic, future jungle re-visioning and secondly from drum & bass pioneer, X-E-Dos who drops his industrial, dubwise version. We see the album out on a more relaxed note with Airwalker's sublime, chilled, downtempo remix of 'Feelin' It'.

Pixel in collaboration with a succession of breakbeat luminaries delivers an essential excursion into deep bass exploration with 'Into The Unknown'. Which also proves to be just as rewarding a home listening experience as it would in the club. This comes highly recommended!

Boomsha Recordings welcome the return of veteran  drum & bass producer, Ex-E-Dos, who previously appeared as a member of The Collective, Serve Chilled and Ice Minus groups and on labels as diverse as Hard Leaders, Tech Itch Recordings, Bacillus, Audio Couture and Rebelscum. 'The Book Of Ex-E-Dos' marks the release of X-E-Dos' debut solo album with eleven works of intricate drum programming and deep. It's time for the Strictly NuSkool Blog to open the book...

The album's self-titled epic opener, 'The Book Of X-E-Dos' sets the pace with a frantic barrage of layered Apache breaks and amen inserts, humming bass notes and brain-searing mentasm riffs, before being joined by the warped bassline and rapid-fire breakbeat percussion of 'Relentless'. We are next introduced to the deep atmospherics of 'Science Fiction Future Tech' which layers classic Soul Pride breaks with ominous, sighing pads and electrifying oscillations. 'The Warriors' sampling 'This Is Your Future' steps up to the plate next by incorporating a militant succession of drumwork before unleashing a filthy bass drop in the latter third of the track.

The pace relaxes a touch with 'Born Old', which features layered techno/trance synth notes over a minimal beat pattern which is soon succeeded by the ominously moody and vintage tech-step sounds that penetrate 'Axis Of Revolution'. The classic dub vocal sampling 'Dub Objection' features next  and is propelled by a heavyweight, stepping breakbeat and deep bassline growls before introducing the frenetic, clattering breaks, panic alarm synth pattern and deep bass throbs of 'Feel'. 

'The Abyss' takes us on an exhilarating ride where high energy, 2-step beats do battle with a massive, grimy bass riff to get your feet moving and head nodding. We are then treated to a veritable homage to classic rave tunes with 'Ode To History', which expertly blends together elements of classic oldskool anthems from the likes Holy Noise, Mental Overdrive, Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era, Tone Def, DJ Blatant & The Master Programmer, Krome & Time, 2 Bad Mice, Orbital and many others for the spotters to identify. To round off the album we are taken by X-E-Dos for one more trip into dark and moody territory with the amen break and monstrous bassline infused 'Those Eyes'. Which ensures that 'The Book Of X-E-Dos' ends on an energetic note.
