Another Autumn looms ever closer which means it's time for Switchblade Digital to unveil another compendium of darkness to welcome in the pitch black nights. The label has rounded up eleven dark breakbeat hardcore, jungle and drum & bass tracks to compile the 'Darkcore Massacre' album available on Limited Edition CD exclusively from Switchblade Digital, and featuring a whole host of underground talent. It's about to get grisly!!!

Kickstarting the slaughter we have Pursuit's amen rinser 'Tenebrosity', which sets the tone by fusing together rolling breaks and an ascending/desending bassline alongside a monstrous, terror-riff fuelled drop to get those bassbins shaking in fear.
Deadly Nightshade up next  introduces us to some symphonic, hoover action with 'Mobius', to deliver a 2018 take on vintage, dark, late '92 era of breakbeat hardcore, complete with rich synth textures and hair-raising stab riffage.

The mysterious Mr Anderson captures that classic 1993 darkside vibe on the 'Friday The 13th' sample-fest, 'Camp Blood' which expertly melds together breakneck speed beats and sub bass with skin-crawling, sinister pads.
Jumping from 1993 style darkcore into 1996-1997 tech-step, Necrotype delivers a contemporary update on that classic No U-Turn / Emotif era of oppressive D&B with 'The Pursuant', complete with heavyweight, 2-step breaks, harsh mentasm stabs and deep, groaning bass notes.

Coming in like a spiritual successor of Crystl's 'Warpdrive', Virtuoso's 'Illusion Of Confusion' ramps up the atmosphere to intense levels with it's fusion of razor-sharp amen edits, reversed, 'Dread Bass' notes and menace-dripping, droning pads.
Representing the jungle techno contingent we have Master Mash, who unleashes his hypnosis inducing 'Spiralling Into The Void', an expertly crafted fusion of pounding kick-drums, rolling breaks and vertigo inducing, arppegiated synth riffs.

The DJ Roko up next takes no prisoners with his relentlessly heavy, dark D&B / 1993 darkcore hybrid, 'Blinded By Darkness', an exhilarating amen rinse-out perfectly balanced with it's use of spine-tingling, cavernous synth notes that'll rip your soul asunder!!!
The infamous Beat Rapist sets forth to batter your subwoofers with the foundation shaking 'Dark Methods VIP', which instantly conjures up visions of some monolithic, deep space dreadnought locked in conflict and unleashing monstrous Reese bass depth charges and a barrage of rapid-fire breakbeat laser blasts.

It's time for some militant hardcore and junglism courtesy of The Shade Brothers, whose 'The Crow', track blends together hardstep breaks and 808 bass with deep and dark synth textures and choice movie dialogue samples.
The one and only Beats Are Broken lets loose his manic slab of twisted acid driven jungle, 'Death Trap' on any unwitting ravers out there, only to ensnare them in it's myriad of eclectic samples and stylistic twists.

Last, and most certainly not least we have Switchblade Digital, label-boss Abyss who unveils his "creation" with 'Perfect Science', an epic exercise in soaring pads, deep rumbling bass notes, amen break choppage and vintage monster flick samplage.

The 'Darkcore Massacre' collection sets out and succeeds on it's mission to bring you the heaviest and darkest breakbeat hardcore, jungle and drum & bass for 2018. This one is strictly for the headstrong junglists only!!!

The 'Darkcore Massacre' Limited Edition CD is available to order now, directly from the Switchblade Digital webstore for the bargain price of £8 (plus P&P), but you better be quick as they are due to fly out!!!

[BOOMSHA RECORDINGS] Cryogenics - Preparation For Something That Will Never Happen [CD Album & Digital Dwonlaod Available To Purchase Now!!!]

1/ Looking For You From The Top Of The Mountain (Intro).
2/ Akrotiri.
3/ Forbidden Souls.
4/ Andromeda.
5/ Blood Red Skies (ft. Lily Garcia).
6/ Arc 170.
7/ What They Can't See.
8/ Ronin.
9/ Can't Rain All The Time.
10/ Still Waiting At The Park (Outro).

After a brief intermission from their release schedule, the Boomsha Recordings camp makes an epic return to the scene with the release of Athens based drum & bass producer, Cryogenics' magnum opus 'Preparation For Something That Will Never Happen'. Featuring ten deep and atmospheric tracks spanning the realms of frenetic jungle to rolling drum & bass, available in strictly limited edition, CD format.

We are first introduced to Cryogenics luscious, piano led opening track, 'Looking For You From The Top Of The Mountain (Outro)', which is soon succeeded by 'Akrotiri', which fuses a snappy, stepping breakbeat with techno style pulses and soothing synth washes. 'Forbidden Souls' also expertly captures the essence of mid-nineties, intelligent jungle by pairing rugged Think and amen breaks with soaring pads and gentle bass notes.

Things go a touch deeper with the brooding 'Andromeda', a track which lures you in with evocative strings only to pummel you with thundering amen rolls on the drop. Up next Cryogenics enlists the vocal talents of New Orleanian songstress, Lily Garcia on 'Blood Red Skies', and weaves together an exhilarating combination of hard hitting beats, yearning vocals and lush synths. On 'Arc 170' we are taken back to the Blue Note era of drum & bass where intense sci-fi soundscapes do battle with heavyweight, pitched down amens to devastating effect.

We are presented with an expertly crafted fusion of rolling breaks, and reverb soaked electronica on 'What They Can't See', as if the Richard D. James, circa 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92' decided to follow the path of D&B rather than go full-on experimental. 'Ronin' delivers a tension filled, kick drum infused build up flavoured with technoid flourishes, before we are finally given a tearing amen release.

'Can't Rain All The Time' takes us on an atmospheric jungle trip with it's use of stepping breaks, deep bass pulses and soaring strings that are guaranteed to tug at the heartstrings. The album is then brought to a close with 'Still Waiting At The Park (Outro)' which perfectly concludes this sublime collection of music.

Upon first listen it becomes evident that Cryogenics has put his heart and soul into this album's creation, and if you have a passion for richly textured, deep and atmospheric jungle/drum & bass then this will be an essential addition to the collection.

The limited edition CD version of Cryogenics' 'Preparation For Something That Will Never Happen' album is available to purchase for £10 (plus postage & packaging) from the official Boomsha Recordings Bandcamp page, and comes with an exclusive digital download with bonus track.

Switchblade Digital are back once more with a roundup of the darkest, crustiest grimiest junglistc dubs with the release of the label's third album, 'The Power Of The Darkside'. Featuring 10 exclusive darkside cuts from the underground hardcore and jungle scene's most diabolical producers. The Strictly NuSkool Blog prepares itself for a journey to the DARKSIDE!!!

Beats Are Broken sets the tone of the album with opening track, 'Meet Your Destiny', a punishingly dark slice of amen-fuelled junglism jam-packed with thundering bass patterns and brain scouring mentasm riffs set to give your speakers nightmares for weeks. Up next, 'Dark Presence' by Virtuoso takes the listener on a darkside trip by combining expertly layered breaks, pounding 4/4 kicks and ghostly pads to devastating effect. Watch out for the pitch black, downtempo switchup midway!!!

Switchblade Digital label boss Abyss takes the helm with his 1980's sci-fi flick influenced 'I'll Be Back', a track which celebrates the intensity of the classic nineties jungle sound whilst giving it a modern production overhaul for 2017. The inimitable Master Mash captures the spirit of jungle techno with his darkly melodic synth driven offering 'The Dreamer Cometh', which evokes the feelings of a rave flavoured, cinematic soundtrack to some long forgotten cyborg flick (in the same vein as it's predecessor).

The thematic stylings of the album takes on a more contemporary turn with Danny Skeedale's menacing breakbeat track 'Ghosts of The Past', which injects plenty of oldskool flavour to the proceedings with it's combination of vintage Andy C synths and huge 'Anasthasia' stab-fest. Some guy called 'Breakbeat Scientist' drops another slice of dark hardcore, peppered with liberal helpings of 2008 home invasion horror movie samples with 'Strangers', taking inspiration from darkcore classics from the likes of Essence of Aura, Bizzy B and Chaos & Julia Set.

The ever prolific Deadly Nightshade makes his return to give us some 'Nightmares' by delivering a epic, tense, and richly structured breakbeat hardcore track populated with electrifying stab patterns, soaring pads and sinister strings. Paranoid Recordings very own RenegadeGenius rewinds us right back to 1993 with 'Power Of The Darkness', a track which instantly summons up memories of legendary labels such as Formation, Dark Horse and Face Records with it's authentic retro stylings.

Up next we go full-on jungle with Abstract Illusion's 'Leia's Gonna Dis U Right Now', which expertly combines iconic hip-hop rhyming with furiously sliced and diced, amen choppage like it was still 1995 and monstrous, growling bass drones. Beat Rapist brings the album to an Earth shattering close with 'Deviants & Teddy Bears' which blends together the very best elements of ruffneck junglism and grime encrusted, industrial tech-step to create an oppressive, yet hauntingly atmospheric finale.

Switchblade Digital have proven that the label has made it's mission to unearth the very best in underground, dark hardcore and jungle talent, and this latest collection illustrates that it has yet another hit on it's hands. If your soul belongs to the darkside, then this will satisfy all your dark desires!!!

'The Power Of The Darkside' exclusive, Limited Edition CD album is available to purchase from the official Switchblade Digital webstore for £8 (plus P&P). Quantities are extremely limited though, so you better be quick off the mark. 'The Power Of The Darkside' will also become available in digital formats also in the near future.

Amiga Breaks returns to Dark Til Dawn Records with the release of a massive collection of oldskool style breakbeat tracks, heavily inspired by the classic sounds of the Amiga 500-1200 computers of yesteryear. Taking a departure from his trademark 140-160 bpm forays into the realms of hardcore and jungle, Amiga Breaks winds the tempo down to 120 bpm with the brand new '16 BIT Memories' album.

Right from the first few bars of atmospheric breakbeat opening track 'Interdimensional Sliding' to the deep techno outro of 'Binary Dreams', it becomes clear that Amiga Breaks has taken great steps to reconstruct the classic, retro sounds of the early nineties, whilst adding his own personal spin on the genres contained. For the likes of 'Deep Constellation', 'Liquid Flow', 'Mind Science' and 'Nu Jazz Kind' we see a funk flavoured, 2-step garage breaks and shuffling house percussion, combine with lush strings rolling basslines to great effect, providing the perfect combination of rough and smooth textures.

'Digital Vistas' and 'Execute Command' we are provided with two electrifying takes on the classic techno template with the former's energetic, synth heavy flow and the latter's electro-esque focus on beats and bass. Rolling breakbeats are the flavour of the day with 'Titan Rise' and 'U Turn Around Jupiter' layering a heady blend of euphoric and silky smooth synth melodies over rugged beats and deep bass notes. In addition to the aforementioned genres, the spirit of rave flow strong through the pulsating bass riffs of 'Mr Sax' and 'Positive Vibes'the latter of which utilises a positively uplifting, dubwise riddim combined with soothing pads.

The ever versatile Amiga Breaks delivers yet another essential selection of uniquely authentic and genre-spanning oldskool flavours. If you have a penchant for those vintage Amiga sounds then this album s a must have addition to your collection!!!

Heavyweight drum & bass producer and regular Red Alfa Records contributorDistrax presents his debut album 'I Didn't Choose Music, Music Chose Me' featuring fifteen massive dancefloor orientated D&B floor-burners available as a Limited Edition CD.

The album opens to the sound of soulful female vocals with 'Know What You Want', which are soon accompanied by frantic amen breaks and a colossal buzz-saw bass, before we are rewound back to the glory days of oldskool rave with 'Close My Eyes', where classic Apache break breakbeats meld with a pulsating nuskool bassline and massive hands-in-the-air drop! The pace drops a touch with 'Let My Soul Fly Free' which introduces lush vocals with jazzy guitar-licks over skittish percussion while 'Goin Back To Basics' features an exhilarating blend of trance-style euphoria, and filthy D&B, bassline distortion.

'Get On Up' delivers a mash-up of ragga MC shout-outs over a twisted, growling mentasm bassline to further stamp those hardcore influences on the album before we are lured into a hypnotic state with 'In Control's skanking, reggae rhythm and haunting female sighs. Gorgeous, celestial pads open 'Supressed Thoughts' before are feet are directed to do the 2-step shuffle by stepping breaks and industrial bass notes before we are enveloped in 'Total Anihilation', a futuristic stepper with a strong sci-fi vibe and warped bass pressure.

With 'Alright' things go a little darker with the introduction of 'Terminator'-esque synth notes over relentless tech-step breaks and bass dirges. 'Transitional Equinox' up next delivers a contemporary take on the atmospheric jungle sounds pushed by the likes of A Guy Called Gerald back in the early ninties, where soaring strings merge with heavyweight bass throbs while 'Biotic Factor' leads us into a false sense of security with spacious and sparse atmospherics before belting us in the face with 'Shadow Boxing' style bass growls. 'Get Up' delivers a barrage of brain searing stabs (classic Bad Company style!!!) over frenetic, heavyweight breaks and overlaid, ragga chatter before we are hit with an immensely invigorating synth melody and amen edits.

We are then take 'Into The Depths Of Darkness', as we near the end of the album, which combines stepping breaks and eerie shriek effects with a hauntingly sinister piano melody before the soothing ambient, liquid grooves of 'Jump Up'... only kidding... before the roughneck, ragga vocalled bomb that is 'Jump Up' takes control of your feet to get them tearing up the dancefloor. We are taken back to the rave with another high energy, amen backed, ecstatic synth led floor-burner with 'Free Your Soul' which closes the album on a devastatingly high note.

Distrax proves that he has effectively mastered many styles of drum & bass with his 'I Didn't Choose Music, Music Chose Me' album, and definitely has a huge talent for delivering infectious and heavenly melodies that could be comparable to that of a D&B Burial in places as well as providing a huge nod to the scene's oldskool past. A hugely accomplished album of both dark and light, but all dancefloor based drum & bass tracks.

The 'I Didn't Choose Music, Music Chose Me' album is available to purchase now in Limited Edition CD format for $8.00 plus postage and packaging before going on general digital release on 21/01/16. To make your order follow the link below...

Featuring ten of the darkest and most sinister hardcore and jungle tracks this side of 1993 from ten masters of nuskool, darkcore and jungle tekno.

'From The Depths Of Hades' opens with Switchblade Digital label boss, Abyss who presents his menacingly dark, bass heavy, amen-fest, 'Bloodshed' to kick off the breakbeat carnage. KeeZee follows up next with a hauntingly atmospheric, slice of 1993 style, dark jungle with 'Help Me' which combines sinister synths alongside ruthlessly sliced and diced breaksPursuit drops a bassline straight from the very depths of Hades itself fused with 100 mph breakbeats on 'Kan U Feel Da Bass' while Jungle Rollerz stalwart, Necrotype sees him taking things in a mid-nineties, industrial tech-step direction with his epic paced 'Attraction'.

The mysterious Breakbeatscientist (now I wonder who that could be?) unveils a darkcore re-visioning of his original tech-step track with the 'Shape Shifter VIP', heavily inspired by a classic 1980's, body-morphing, sci-fi horror flick. The don of demonically possessed darkcore,  FX unleashes brain battering junglistic breaks and booming basslines with 'Is Truth The Light' before the album is concluded with 'Possessed', a frantic blend of brain-bashing techno and thundering breaks from Finland's finest rave-manic, Yell-O-Phase.
