Borai In Conversation with Bass Scoops Radio (Part 1)

Bass Scoops Radio continues its wonderful journey of interviews and specialities, this time hosting Bristol based talent Borai. Relax and enjoy the first part of this great show and get to know one of the most familiar acts within the new breed of Bass scene.

"This is a big one listeners - number one of two parts. During the summer of 2023 I met up with Boris English, who you may better know how as Borai. Breakbeat artist extraordinaire, solo artist of great repute, a corner stone of bass music in Bristol , part for the excellent Club Glow crew and one half of the Off Beat modern hard house project with Don'tforgettogohome. Borai was super generous with his time and not only shares with us his own story but gives us insights into the evolution of bass music in Bristol from its Jungle roots though dubstep to the present day. Alongside this we get the production tips, lessons from the music business, a guided tour of his treasure trove of a studio and of course the story of that record with that sample!" - Bass Scoops Radio

Denham Audio on the new 12" Vinyl EP via Club Glow

'Thirty Eight Snub' is the title of the latest offering and highly anticipated record by the ever hard working label and club night, Club Glow.

Sheffield based Denham Audio, the main act behind the tracks, make a massive work in here, filled to the brim with breakbeat jungle tracks.
It's a trademark and a 'love letter' to the spirit of UK rave.
Highlight on this record is the title track featuring the legendary Grime MC Trim who spits his notorious vocals over an absolutely UK Bass atmospheric weapon. Dealing with rolling breakbeats and firing bassline, this high-octane 12" EP pushes out the '92 days in a contemporary way.
Moreover, it's the debut record of Denham Audio over Club Glow. A supreme new material for your collection and the outdoor stage that would be burning even more among this wax.

Don't miss out
the next Club Glow event on 3rd September in London, hosting a massive line-up of DJs with the likes of AK SPORTS, Prismer & Borai (info)

'Tear My Heart':: The new 12" record by Club Glow

Let's focus on Club Glow.

Call it a label or rave night; it's something extraordinary to draw your attention and gain your support. You can tell that it's actually the result of the new breed of rave hailing from different places and music cultures such as Sheffield, Bristol and London. In simple words, one of the UK's finest and brightest crews at present.

The team consists of Borai, Denham Audio, Mani Festo and LMajor who's the key player to launch their first release for 2022. London based producer, DJ, one half of Local Group and essential stalwart of the Club Glow collective, the man like LMajor is working his socks off the last couple of years and a good row of tracks have shown the safe way to this great new record.

'Tear My Heart' EP reminisces the good old days of 1992, as noteworthy to mention that this year we're running the 30th anniversary of the UK Breakbeat Hardcore eruption. A sound that's still resilient and you can simply have a listen to this impeccable 4-tracker of freshness in case you're at crossroads.

We're dealing with the third 12" Vinyl release from the Club Glow imprint and it's a fair introduction to this '92 contemporary revival. A great amount of infinite breakbeats all around will tear your heart from happiness. In addition to that, the title track is known off the Club Glow takeover shows on Balamii Radio - fans that stand next to this gang are already aware of this aspiring new dish.
Also, not to sit out on tracks like 'Energy', that's premiered through DJ Mag Soundcloud page. Drawing on sample vox from Cutback and Federal’s ‘Rock To The Rhythm’ coming among his dominant rave stabs, LMajor has put the greatest highlight of this record in our humble perspective. And there's even a great collab between himself and Decibella joining forces for a heavyweight and hot breakage.

'Tear My Heart' EP is out on 4th February via Bandcamp and selected physical stores.

Club Glow present their new Vinyl release

A1 - Need U
A2 - Step Off
B1 - Yellow
B2 - Shadow Law

Club Glow co-manager, Borai from Bristol, is the man behind the second official Vinyl release of this hard working collective from UK. An ideal work following up Mani Festo's debut and primary EP.
This time, we're dealing with a masterpiece of futuristic Hardcore, a prophecy of a massive resurrection of nightlife clubbin and tracks that incarnate British underground spirit nowdays.

'Need U' is the title of this superb new weapon, with the self-titled soaring track (being also Borai's favorite) evoking the right optimism driven by euphoric vocals, infused with the right breakbeats.
By far one of the best tracks of this year that will lead your soul to the gates of a rave that we all yearn to live up again. The time is now!
On the flipside, you can find 'Yellow' a lush track that you'll surely dig especially if you're a fan of Coco Bryce timbre, for instance.
Closing with an Oldskool '93 darkside vibe translated into a 140 tip for 'Shadow Realm' and you should not sit out on these monstrous beats. Strictly for the headstrong!

Only available on Bandcamp and very selected physical record stores.
Limited to 300 copies

MANI FESTO - All Night EP [12" Vinyl EP - CLUB GLOW]

A1 - All Night
A2 - Trackside
B1 - Cheatin
B2 - Tell Me Why

CLUB GLOW Records strike back and fight corona with their new limited weapon of choice! This time's the label premieres on vinylized releases with a resident established member, dj/producer and artwork aficionado, the man like Mani Festo from Brighton.

We're dealing with an imperative new release, highly expected from the fans for many years as these tunes used to be played out since 2015. It's a 4-track melting pot of influences such as UK Garage, Trip Hop and Dubstep from the man like Mani Festo, who's pleased to unleash his debut record over this mighty collective.

"A1, The title track 'All Night' was written back in 2015 and was on regular rotation at Swamp 81 parties at the time. A staple in the sets of Dj's such as Loefah, Orson and Youngsta it has remained an elusive dubplate until now!

'Trackside' is a continuation of the previous track. A gritty FWD style roller that features samples describing all-nighters painting trains. This is a subtle nod to a miss-spent youth sneaking out and painting Graffiti.

On the flipside 'Cheatin' is yet another unreleased dubplate from the same era as 'All Night'. This caused serious damage on dancefloors as a dub, check out this recording of Loefah and Chunky in Birmingham in 2016 - soundcloud.com/mani_festo/cheatin-loefah-live-in-birmingham-w-chunky - Need we say any more?

B2 slows the tempo down for street beat style breakbeat riddim 'Tell Me Why'. This one nods back to the sounds coming out of Bristol in the late 80's and early 90's. A perfect way to round off the release."

This record is limited by 300 copies only, most of these are available through Bandcamp and just a few on selected physical shops. Don't forget that on Friday 3rd of July, Bandcamp are waiving their fees again to support the artists, the labels, the good creativity that's working hard during this weird year.

A record that's a dark futuristic clubbing weapon to save in your soul, holding it tight till your return to the nightlife.
Vibes all around through it...
And... All night.
