Proving that they are no stranger to championing the freshest, underground jungle and drum & bass talent, Dark Til Dawn Records introduces the brand new EP from label newcomer NY SkyKore with the release of the sublime 'Flight Lines' EP.

'Dawn Of The Tiger' kicks things off in an authentically retro, intelligent jungle style with it's gorgeous blend of sweeping, atmospheric chords, deftly programmed bass notes, nature documentary vocal snippets from Sir Dave and intense, tearing amen breaks. A track which if released back in '94 would have been on LTJ Bukem's set-list the moment he heard it. The EP's title track, 'Flight Lines' follows next with a similar fusion of rough and smooth elements, this time combining gentle guitar melodies with an euphoric synth motif, which soon flows into a bombastic bassline coupled with a series of frantically edited, rolling breaks. 

My personal favourite track, 'Ghosts' sees jungle's melting pot formula hybridize with elements of footwork, I.D.M. and house aesthetics with it's heady blend of high BPM, chopped-up breakbeats fuse with scuttering snares, bubbling, acidic bass throbs and stuttering, ecstatic male vocals. 'SkyWars' fast forwards the oldskool jungle format right into the future with it's expertly implemented use of classic, vintage elements and production techniques with current atmospheric elements. The EP is brought to a close with the Roland 909 drum machine inspired '909 Mix' of 'Flight Lines', which sees the original version receive a pulsating, bass overhaul reminiscent of Lemon D's legendary 1996 classic, 'City Lights' on Prototype Recordings.
