[PARA004] Tim Reaper - Dead & Buried + [PARA005 / KVA009] Freshtrax & HMS - 2 Go Mad In Boscaland / A Man Called Doom [2 x 12" Vinyl Pre-Orders Available Now!!!]

The Parallax Recordings and Keeping Vinyl Alive crews are back with a vengeance in 2019, with two essential 12" vinyl pre-orders available for reservation, with jungle don, Tim Reaper's deep and dark 'Dead & Buried' EP, and two rare-as-hean's-teeth, oldskool classics from Freshtrax & HMS, the '2 Go Mad In Boscaland' and 'Man Called Doom' complied together on one exclusive and official EP!!!

[PARA 004] Tim Reaper - Dead & Buried.

A1 - Dead & Buried.
A2 - Dope Break.
B1 - Journey  To The Moon.
B2 - One 1 Crew - Bad Dreams (Tim Reaper Remix).

For anyone with even the most basic knowledge of contemporary jungle, the name Tim Reaper will need no introduction when it comes to tearing amens, deep atmospheric and cavernous basslines. For his debut appearance on Parallax Recordings, Tim rewinds us back to 1993 to bring us his contemporary take on darkside jungle tekno with his 'Dead & Buried' EP.

Opening to the pitch black sounds of thundering, amen junglism, with title track 'Dead & Buried', which holds the torch of Golden Era darkcore aloft, with it's fusion of rapid-fire, machine-gun snares, relentless 4/4 kicks and sinister pads. And if that ain't enough to convince you the wait for the twisted breakdown!!!

'Dope Break' up next takes us on a more melodic, jungle techno trip with it's use of sweeping strings and melancholic pads, all set to a precision crafted combination of rolling amens, pounding kickdrums and descending bass pattern.

Kicking off the flip-side we have my personal favourite out of the four, the sinister slice of darkcore that is 'Journey To The Moon', which hits the listener with a barrage of rolling breaks, kicks and booming bassline comparable to output of classic 1993 labels such as Dark Horse Records and Symphony Sounds.

The collection is brought to an explosive close with a track which featured on K.V.A. and Parallax's debut joint venture release, the On 1 Crew's 'Bad Dreams' which receives a heavyweight, 2019 revamp from the man like Tim Reaper himself.

With the 'Dead & Buried' EP, Tim Reaper proves that the sounds of darkly atmospheric, yet brutally uncompromising jungle techno is still far from being run into the ground. This fresh take on the darkcore style is not to be missed and is an essential addition to your vinyl collection. Buy it now!!!

Tim Reaper's 'Dead & BuriedEP is available to pre-order from the official Parallax Recordings webstore for €14.99 (plus P&P)...

[PARA005 / KVA009] Freshtrax & HMS - 2 Go Mad In Boscaland / Man Called Doom.

A1 - Do It.
A2 - The Believer.
B1 - Version Excursion.
B2 - No Limits.
B2 - Feel It.

Requiring little introduction for any self-respecting enthusiast of oldskool hardcore, the legendary pairing of Freshtrax & HMS on the infamous Little Giant Music label in 1992 saw the duo unleash a flurry of extremely sought after underground anthems. Parallax Recordings in collaboration with Keeping Vinyl Alive pull off a major coup by unleashing fully remastered and restored, reissues of the '2 Go Mad In Boscaland' single and the 'Man Called Doom EP' on vinyl. Two veritble hardcore Holy Grails!!!

'2 Go Mad In Boscaland' opens up to the dubwise, rave sounds of 'Do It', a potent blend of euphoric stabs, crunching 'Hip This House' breaks and a rumbling bassline that is just positively overflowing with good vibes, guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

'Do It' is joined by 'The Believer', an adrenalising fusion of hadcore and techno elements driven by an infectious 'Landlord' stab riff, pounding kicks, breaks and hi-hats and soulful, male vocal snippets that will get all hands aloft on the dancefloor.

The flipside opens with 'Version Excursion' from the 'A Man Called Doom' EP, which takes us down the route of early jungle tekno with it's usage of deep, techno bass notes paired with thundering breaks, ascending rave synths and iconic dancehall vocal samples.

'No Limits' follows in close succession with a pulsating mash-up of instantly recognisable, euphoric rave staples - an undulating bassline, J.F.K.'s iconic "we choose to go to the moon" speech, D Train 'Keep On' vocals and piano stabs aplenty, to create an unashamedly uplifting piece of breakbeat hardcore.

Bringing the quintet to a resounding conclusion we have 'Feel It', a track which borrows the electrifying synth from The Prodigy's 'Fire (Genaside II Remix)', and interweaves it into a maelstrom of stabs, hoovers and house vocals to devastating effect.

The professionally restored and remastered '2 Go Mad In Boscaland / A Man Called Doom' EP ensures that oldskool vinyl fanatics will now finally be able to won a piece of rave history, as well as ensure that the memory of the late, great HMS is remembered by generations to come.

The Freshtrax & HMS '2 Go Mad In Boscaland / A Man Called Doom' EP is available to pre-order from the official Parallax Recordings webstore for €14.99 (plus P&P), or from Keeping Vinyl Alive for £12.99 (also plus P&P).

[KVA006 / PARA001] On 1 Crew - On 1 Crew EP [Unreleased Oldskool 12" Vinyl Available To Pre-Order Now!!!]

A1 - Bad Dreams. (1993)
A2 - Bad Dreams (The Lost & Found Remix). (1993 Unreleased)
B1 - Dreams Of Java (Different Story). (1994 Unreleased)
B2 - Looking 4 Love. (1995 Unreleased)

Ever since ravers were first teased with exclusive dubplate mixes and low pressed rarities, there has been a huger for fans of breakbeat hardcore, jungle and drum & bass to identify and track down these rarities. Now more than twenty years on from the Golden Era of hardcore and jungle, those lost classics are now even more sought after. Thankfully, due to the endeavors of labels such as Keeping Vinyl Alive in collaboration with Parallax Recordings, these seemingly lost in time, oldskool gems now get their chance to get their chance to shine.

For Keeping Vinyl Alive's sixth release in conjunction with brand new official, rare and unreleased oldskool hardcore, jungle and drum & bass label, Parallax Recordings, the two labels present the On 1 Crew's 'On 1 Crew EP'.

Opening with the LTJ Bukem caned 'Bad Dreams', a hugely atmospheric 1993 hardcore/jungle track which appeared on the elusive 'Let Em Ave It EP' on Bump Records and features the now infamous Newt from 'Aliens' dialogue sample. The 'On 1 Crew EP' then introduces the first of three previously unreleased tracks, starting with 'Bad Dreams (The Lost & Found Remix)', also from 1993, which introduces more junglistic elements to the mix with it's darker opening section and focus on rugged, stepping breaks, to create an excellent alternative version to the original.

1994's 'Dreams Of Java (Different Story)' takes us into deep jungle territory, by combining lush soaring pads, rattling breakbeat percussion, booming bass alongside classic Candi Staton vocals. 'Looking 4 Love', from 1995 closes the EP in an equally atmospheric fashion fusing sweeping, jazzy synths over a restrained, stepping break and soothingly seductive female vocals.

The 'On 1 Crew EP' lovingly collects together one lost classic from yesteryear alongside three previously unheard and unreleased tracks to get any vintage jungle enthusiast frothing at the mouth. As well as proving to be a taster of what is yet to come from the two officially licensed, oldskool repress labels Keeping Vinyl Alive and Parallax Recordings.

The On 1 Crew 'On 1 Crew EP' has been remastered from the origianl D.A.T. recordings by the legendary Beau Thomas and Ten Eight Seven Mastering and Cutting services, and is available to pre-order now for the price of £10 (plus postage & packaging) from the Keeping Vinyl Alive webstore via the link below, with an expected release date of January 2016. So get your orders in to get your hands on some ultra rare and unreleased pieces of jungle history!!!

[KVA004] Skanna - 2015 Remastered Collection [3 x 12" Vinyl Available Now To Pre-order From Keeping Vinyl Alive!!!]

A-Side - Nightstalker. (1993)
B-Side - Heaven. (1993)
C-Side - This Way. (1993)
D-Side - Find Me. (1995)
E-Side - Until The Night Is Morning. (1993)
F-Side - All You Wanted. (1994)

John Graham under his short lived Skanna moniker produced some legendary tunes from the from the birth of hardcore in 1992 right up until the beginnings of drum & bass in 1995. With releases appearing on the likes of Whitehouse Records and his own Skanna label, with many of them becoming extremely sought after nowadays.
Between 2008 and 2009 the reknowned but sadly defunct Sublogic Recordings released two artist endorsed and remastered Skanna releases on 12" vinyl, which collected the cream of Jon Graham's Skanna label. Both soon sold out and have subsequently become sought after in their own rights. However due to an increasing interest in classic hardcore, jungle and drum & bass, Sublogic Recordings label boss, Will Irvine has taken the steps to collect both 'The Skanna Collection Volume One' double 12" vinyl pack and the 'Until The Night Is Morning / All You Wanted' single to offer the 'Skanna 2015 Remastered Collection' triple vinyl pack on the Keeping Vinyl Alive label as a limited edition remastered package.

Opening with the 'Papua New Guinea' sampling, 1993 jungle-tekon classic, 'Nightstalker' which combines a thundering breakbeat backed by a booming bass thumps and techno blip melodies before dropping into the infamous Future Sound Of London drop. 'Heaven' on the flipside incorporates militant, junglistic breaks with added percussive elements along with a pervasive and warping mentasm riff and 'Ohh I'm In heaven baby' vocals to create a perfect example of the thinking man's darkcore track.

'This Way', also from 1993 takes things towards a more melodic direction with lushly sweeping strings backed by restrained, stepping breaks and gorgeous Caron Wheeler vocal samples. An early example of what would become intelligent/atmospheric drum & bass. The timeline jumps forward to 1995 next with the exquisite pre-liquid D&B classic 'Find Me'. A lush stepping track with rich layered breaks and gentle bass throbs which morph into soulful keyboard notes and female sighs.

The legendary pitch-black anthem 'Until The Night Is Morning' drops next in a thunderstorm of clattering, pitched breaks and bass booms, accompanied by suspenseful strings and brain searing hoover stabs. However all is not lost to the darkness with the inclusion of one intensely atmospheric drop featuring the infamous 'I'll be there.....until the night is morning!' 1994's 'All I Wanted' wraps things up by dropping a dub-vibed,  deeply atmospheric jungle monster with intensely programmed and layered breaks and percussion.

Six rarities from one of the hardcore, jungle the drum & bass scene's unsung heroes and a vinyl collection that is sure to become just as sought after as the original releases.

The 'Skanna 2015 Remastered Collection' triple vinyl pack is available to pre-order for the price of £30 plus postage and packaging from the Keeping Vinyl Alive webstore link below, and is estimated to be ready for distribution in approximately . There are approximately only 40 copies left for pre-order so buy now before they are gone forever!!!

This release has been mastered by Beau Thomas (aka oldskool hardcore/jungle D&B legend Intense, Babylon Timewarp, The Whitehouse Crew) at Ten Eight Seven Mastering, and is being pressed by Optimal Media GmbH in Germany. So expect nothing but the best quality!

Official oldskool vinyl re-mastering and repressing specialists Keeping Vinyl Alive and Ninety Two Retro have joined forces in collaboration with original 1991 rave artists Global Method (aka Vibe Tribe) who had releases on the Ffrreedom and Eclipse Records labels, to release a massive 8-track 12" vinyl only Double Pack entitled the 'Sons Of The Eclipse EP'. Selecting the choicest cuts and remixes from the band's back catalogue and unearthing 5 unreleased tracks to top it off.

Featuring the Original Mix of Global Method's sublime, hands in the air anthem, 'Good Life' alongside two revisionings from techno overlords Orbital, including a massive unreleased acid overhaul.  'Mars Needs Women' receives an all out, stabtastic 1992 makeover from the infamous DJ Seduction
The original and unreleased mix of 'Spice Of Life' features a unique blend of acidic-breakbeat alongside some heavy-as-hell stabs to excellent effect. 'Freefall' contrasts euphoric synths and manic synth stabs over a driving, chunky breakbeat in a combination of mellow vibes and energising rhythms.
'Beauty And The Bass (Stash Mix)' introduces harsh junglistic breaks (which were increasingly creeping into popularity in rave tracks back in mid '92) to the rave mix, alongside lush strings and soothing female vocals. The rave-techno crossover track 'Deep Into The Vibe' unreleased mix closes this excellent double vinyl with pounding beats, warped bassline, hardcore riffs aplenty and cheeky vocal lifts from a classic house anthem.

Altogether an outstanding showcase of Global Method/Vibe Tribe's released and undiscovered back catalogue, and a sure-fire 1992 hardcore rarity collectors' wet dream!

Unfortunately, in recent years band member Chris McGuigan developed an aggressive and debilitating form of the Multiple Sclerosis condition, and requires huge levels of support from friends, family and support services. All profits made from the Vibe Tribe - Global Method 'Sons Of The Eclipse EP' Double Vinyl release will go towards Chris' support and care needs.

Will & Dave would like to thank Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering and also David De La Bruyere at Disc Solutions, for their fantastic work on this charity release. Please check out the www.backtotheoldskool.co.uk post for the full story about how the 'Sons Of The Eclipse EP' came about...
