NJOI Interview on RTE Pulse (18 Jan. 2024)

In an exclusive interview with Christian Homan on the Twilight Show over RTE Pulse, the iconic duo of NJOI (Nigel Champion and Mark Franklin) delved into their storied past, as well as present and future action. Reflecting on their journey that commenced in the primary school days at the age of six, the duo offered insights into the energetic rave movement's kickstarting stages.

The discussion touched upon the genesis of the 'Hidden Gems' EPs, a project spurred by none other than Shadow Child of Food Music, who recognized the enduring appeal of NJOI's earlier works and specifically the 'Live in Manchester' class.
"We needed to clear up the past and make available the tracks that were in demand, really" Mark Franklin elucidated.

The duo is currently immersed in creating fresh material collaborating also with the illustrious Saffron, renowned for her vocals on the timeless classic 'Anthem.'
Nigel Champion emphasized the liberating potential of crafting an album, stating, "You've got more chance to express yourself in an album; it suits us to really have a go at that now and to just keep on going, really. We both love music, and we both get a lot of response back from our fans out there. It means something to them, and that's a good enough reason to keep on going, basically."

The forthcoming chapter in NJOI's saga holds the potential to seamlessly blend the echoes of the past with the pulsating beats of the future, ensuring their continued resonance in the hearts of music enthusiasts worldwide. Till then feel free to grab their 'Hidden Gems' here and follow their social platcforms for all updates.

" Music to suit up your Australian and go to the max: as if you had your walkman on and were doing your newspaper round somewhere in the 90s. Proper oldschool gabber and more!"

Boasting a series of impressive releases on Hardcore Energy, where their musical journey kickstarted, S.U.R.E. achieved a commendable feat with their debut EP, 'Back To The Beat.' Not only did it secure a notable position at no.9 on Beatport releases across all genres, but it also claimed the coveted no.1 spot in the Breaks category.

Their latest digital offering, a 3-track EP released through Manchester-based Brick Sweat Records, is described by the duo as 'three pure, unadulterated 90s UK rave throwbacks'. This EP promises a nostalgic journey through the sounds that defined that golden era. The so-called 'Summer Of '89' aims to deliver a contemporary spin on timeless sounds and samples that resonate with the heart of a generation. The starters '1989' and 'Original,' act as dynamic gateways to a breakbeat euphoria, serving as sonic time machines that effortlessly transport listeners back to the hedonistic gatherings of '89. Most of all, their commitment to preserve the raw and authentic feel of the era makes this release a must-listen and must to buy for anyone seeking a genuine trip down memory lane

On the very latest news, the duo has started a new project among Choki Biki head honcho, Sharpson, delivering modern lo-fi trance sounds. The project is called BOY RACER and you can grab the first two singles here.
Aside their production skills, the boys prefer doing mixes tied up from massive visuals. Worth to say that the result is pretty catchy. If you have any doubts, just take a gander on the link below:
