NJOI Interview on RTE Pulse (18 Jan. 2024)

In an exclusive interview with Christian Homan on the Twilight Show over RTE Pulse, the iconic duo of NJOI (Nigel Champion and Mark Franklin) delved into their storied past, as well as present and future action. Reflecting on their journey that commenced in the primary school days at the age of six, the duo offered insights into the energetic rave movement's kickstarting stages.

The discussion touched upon the genesis of the 'Hidden Gems' EPs, a project spurred by none other than Shadow Child of Food Music, who recognized the enduring appeal of NJOI's earlier works and specifically the 'Live in Manchester' class.
"We needed to clear up the past and make available the tracks that were in demand, really" Mark Franklin elucidated.

The duo is currently immersed in creating fresh material collaborating also with the illustrious Saffron, renowned for her vocals on the timeless classic 'Anthem.'
Nigel Champion emphasized the liberating potential of crafting an album, stating, "You've got more chance to express yourself in an album; it suits us to really have a go at that now and to just keep on going, really. We both love music, and we both get a lot of response back from our fans out there. It means something to them, and that's a good enough reason to keep on going, basically."

The forthcoming chapter in NJOI's saga holds the potential to seamlessly blend the echoes of the past with the pulsating beats of the future, ensuring their continued resonance in the hearts of music enthusiasts worldwide. Till then feel free to grab their 'Hidden Gems' here and follow their social platcforms for all updates.

Watch a fresh interview with the legends N-JOI

Formed in 1989 by Mark Franklin and Nigel Champion, N-Joi has been one of the most groundbreaking acts from UK to the global dance scene.

With top albums and singles, tours around the globe and always a high-energy attitude on their performances, N-Joi are back in releasing new records, continuing their golden history and career.
The news is that there's a new release of them. Hot and fresh! It is all about a triple 12" white Vinyl entitled 'Collected', which is released through Food Music, imprint of Shadow Child.
This one's a precursor just before releasing some previously unheard material created in the early 90s and new productions as well for the 21st century!!
"For the first time, these exclusive extended versions of NJOI's seminal tracks are available as a 3 coloured disc vinyl-only release. Carefully lifted from their original early 90's live sets, these tracks have been re-crafted, extended and mastered to todays sonic standards and we're very proud to present 'Collected' on Food Music.
This project is much more than simply re-issuing the cream of NJOI's catalogue. As we enter 2022, we begin a year long journey with the duo, eventually unveiling 30 year old unreleased sought-after material for the first time ever, together with remixes from some of the todays finest electronic artists. It’s a privilege to complete the circle with NJOI and their timeless music."
