Das Booty unleash the 2nd Volume of 'Hyper Reality'

London's Das Booty is something extended than just a club night as it begun or a label.
It's basically a forward thinking idea of the new breed of an undeground raving sound. The next big thing coming from UK whilst getting bigger with many quality new additions to their squad. And this week they have a brand new compilation to be unleashed in public!

'Hyper Reality 2' comes out this Friday on 2nd April aka Bandcamp Day and it's comprised of 19 superb tracks and varied of styles from Electro to Techno, Breaks, Footwork till Acid House and Booty breaks. Once again, we're dealing with an indispensable modern approach of a new underground sound that's been breathing the last couple of years where they've hosted great events with the likes of Jerome Hill, Dave Shades, Luke's Anger, Rory K, RRRitalin, Ronin, just to name a few.

The future holds a hyper reality we are not ready for.
Change is coming.

This new second weapon is as hyper as you'd expect, if you'are aware of them. Fusion of styles, early Rave, Acid exposion transcendence, heavyweight beats, Jungle Techno of freshness and a great lineup of producers. Nameley, SELFHOOD, Luke's Anger, Terrorythmus, Spaceface, DJ Please, Polo Lilli, ERAM and many more others are part of this amazing new compilaiton which took less than a year to follow from the debut project of release by Das Booty.

All we got to say is that you should keep your eyes peeled for more from this incredible collective. Till then, hover over to their Bandcamp page and show your support to something that's been put off quite hard work and devotion, in order to thrive something new and aspiring for the scene.

Safe As ... Driller Killer

One of the hardest singles of this week!

Londoner Obsidian Wave makes his debut over Safe As Records. A 'young' label which is specified in the Nu-Rave sound and the continuation of that golden 90s rave vibe. They release anything from Breakbeat to Hardcore Techno and Hard Trance with a great back catalogue of releases so far, that won't disappoint anyone follow this type of raving sounds.
In addition to all these, the Safe As crew are also supporting the charity Young Minds (www.youngminds.org.uk) by donating 10% off all label profits to help out with this hard struggle of young people against mental health issues.

In regards with Obsidian Wave; he's been into the original Oldskool game since a very young age. Being influenced by illegal raves, pirate radios and the ultimate Hardcore & Jungle buzz, he's been producing high level tracks that have already hit the top charts of Beatport.
However, his brand new 'Driller Killer' single release on Safe As, is something quite different as it's a very raw, heavy and futuristic Breakbeat track for the dancefloor resurrection that's upon us. A magnificent combo of Electro with Big Beats, strictly for the headtrsong crew deep in the underground of authenticity.

'Driller Killer' comes out officially on digital format on 2nd April. A date that Bandcamp are waiving their fees again so all revenues go directly to the Artists and the Labels. A good addition and suggestion to any DJ out there and every fan of proper Nuskool Breaks music.

New Free Time Discs release:: 'Roxanna_Break_Stuff'

When we personally receive a notification about a new release from Free Time Discs, then we're more than chuffed to listen to the previews and dive into the rhythm of this mysterious but talented conspiracy between Paul & Shark.

'Roxanna_Break_Stuff' is the name of their brand new digital release; basically the first single off the forthcoming fourth 12" Vinyl release of the label, as already announced. Paul & Shark score once again with a quality forward thinking dish of a good blend of House, funky synths, accompanied by an outstanding video, that you have to watch. Noteworthy to mention that there's also a special takeover by the Japanese producer/DJ Stones Taro, who transcends this gem on a UK Garage tip.

This double digital weapon comes out on 2nd April, a date when Bandcamp raise their fees again in order to support the Artists and the Labels. Simply a good addition to be added to your basket of goodies.

Buenos Aires on a ... Breakcore tip

"Maybe this is not the kind of music you would expect, maybe this is too much. In that case our work is done. Unexpected. Unidentified. Uncompromising."

A heavyweight mission is successfully accomplished by the Argentinian label, Dancefloor Impact Research and we're more than happy to give it some extra boost.
With these words they preserve what's about this ultimate harsh but interesting new release, strictly for the heavystrong and Breakcore aficionados.
You wouldn't you expect anything else when you see names like Stazma The Junglechrist, End User, Audiotist involved on this 10-track heaviness...
Despite all this quality of Breakcore stuff, there's also Amaretto, the young trooper from Japan, offering his different feature by the sounds of Happy Hardcore with breakbeats.
A contemporary compilation covering the very Hardcore edge of big rave festivals such as.. Bang Face and the continuation of the magnificent Breakcore movement.
Available now digitally.

Introducing:: BRAKE FADE (RUS)

Here's a little story, a new 'introduction' feature on this Blog, about a Russian producer who combines his passion for Electronic and Metal music, he's totally Hardcore and got recently involved on Kniteforce Records remixing a track from the mighty Future Primitive. This man has an interesting story to tell us about his own music project which comes with an album including tracks he made some years ago. And his name is ... BRAKE FADE.

"What is BRAKE FADE ? No, it's not about problems with car's brake system. But it's about Djs and vinyls. Vinyl BRAKE as FADE out effect, as you can hear at the end of the track 'Wack Rockin'.

Once upon a time around '97-'98, his creativity kicked off inspired by The Chemical Brothers, Moby, The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim and all sorts of early UK Breakbeat compilations, till we reach his Kniteforce remix. However his album 'Long-Play Glory' has to be mentioned and displayed around the globe.
Labels and DJs you need to check him out.

"It all begins with finding my old records (during we were doing repairs with my brother in our parent's flat) and deciding to rerecord it. I decided to start with my last recordings written in 99-2000, because I thought it would be easier and more interesting. Besides, there were mostly not complete tracks, but parts and loops with main melodics. Re-recording tracks completely seemed more difficult than just taking the melodic basis of old recordings and creating something new on it. And so, the album appeared track by track. In general, I think the tracks on the album must be a little varied and I did so, otherwise it's better to release an EPs. Now, according to people's reviews, everyone has their favorite tracks on album and they are all different. I like all the tracks, otherwise I wouldn't have released them, but probably, mostly of all is 'Bout Love' and 'Takmak', just because it unusual. People also asked why there is no deep Sub bass pumping. I make it intend for original style in album sound. It's just the kind of music that I miss in nowadays and almost no one releases in same style anymore.

Many people mostly like first track 'Breaks better than alcohol'. As I remember, the piano part was inspired by 'Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era - Far Out' that I firstly listened in 1999. 'Breaks better than alcohol' sample just combined from "It's better than tiny alcohol" and "break" taken from some acapella cover of "'one Loc - Funky Cold Medina'.

In the second track 'Turn Out The Light' there is nothing special, but I like the moment at 3:03 with sampled shouts of metal band Dream Theatre - live at summerfest'93.

The third track 'Breakdown' just continues the general mood and then suddenly bursts into 'Wack Rockin' - forth track with Fatboy Slim influence noticeable. This is the one of only two tracks with music sample I use (Nino Tempo & April Stevens - Sweet and Lovely). I like to sample only drums and voice phrases, the music must be mine, I think.

Fifth track 'Bout Love' adds a little romantic tunes smashed at 3:25 by oldschool trance sounded arp.

Sixth track 'Rock It (Album Mix)' just follows through and there used oldest rerecorded part (saw-synth loop).

Seventh track 'Got To Break Away' based only on piano loop from old times and there Yamaha Vocaloid I used for the first time for strange sounded vocalizes. Also on 2:05 there is my scratch line with layered on sample from 'First Frontal Assault - Bloodfire Assault' to makes it sounded more crazy.

Eighth track 'Karambak' - just a fictional Indian name. Very famous Indian song sampled there (Daler Mehndi - Tunak Tunak Tun) to add some ethnic fusion to an album.

Ninth track 'Who's That Bitch', people said, it too much like 'Smack my bitch up', but I think it because of word "bitch" used and breakdown with similar vocalizes at 3:30.

Tenth track 'Bunker Day' is completely new, no used any parts from the past. It tells how fragile the peace is and that there may not be a second chance.

Eleventh track 'Wake Your Look Up' begins with sampled 'Parliament - Flash Light', second and last music sample on this album. The melody at 3:07 sounds too short and makes me rewind it again and again.

Twelfth and last album track 'Takmak' with samples of Chuvashian national ditties and recorded live electric guitar just a little jesting to complete an album.(Chuvashia is a little republic in central part of Russian Federation and Takmak means dance song)."

A stunning Hardcore Breakbeat breeze from Finland

A1. Aeon Four - Ruffer
A2. Nervous + Anxious - Immersion
B1. Infekto - Lift Off
B2. Prime Time - Hypnotic Hardcore

One of the longest underground Drum & Bass/Breakbeat labels of Finland, Straight Up Breakbeat are back with a new weapon, setting the curve ideally on a brand new Hardcore influenced Vinyl series under the name 'FLATLINERS'.
This new series aims to deliver, transcend and showcase again some of the local soldiers of the label, offering Hardcore Breaks and Jungle of contemporary quantity and quality.

The first installment is out now introduced by the sounds of well known acts to fans of this Blog, and Hardcore fans in general.
Kicking off with the brothers Matti and Heikki Sato-Hunsala known as Aeon Four who deliver a sought-after Jungle Breaks track by the name 'Ruffer'. A classic 140 bpm formula cooked up under the wings of this duo of talented brothers in a crime.
A2 side finds two well known suspects within the Nu-Rave game since the golden days of Hardcore Breaks, the mighty Nervous + Anxious. Back after a while with a very good row of new tracks, the boys know the right way to create an intensive Breakbeat track getting it back to square one of the early 90s beauty.
On the flipside, the legendary Infekto returns after his successful junglistic personal EP over Mystery City, spinning a proto Jungle track by the name 'Lift Off'. This producer is totally reppin the year 1994. A wonderful consecutive track on his usual tempo.
Last but not least, it's Prime Time (one half of the legendary duet, Samuel & Nasley). For anyone unaware of this remarkable duo, they've been on the first Finnish acts creating Drum & Bass since mid-90s. However, this featured track is something quite different written in the first days of 90s and it's determined to lock your soul on a .. warehouse.

All in all, it's totally worth giving some follow to this amazing label from Finland, getting to know it's collective and all hard working people behind it, as well as to stay close to this aspring series of Vinyl releases. More to follow as it seems.
Till then, you may grab this big 12" Vinyl in some major shops that can be found on the link above.
Conclusion: Finland is forever Hardcore!

Rave Radio Records new Vinyl release is simply...wunderbar!

Rave Radio Records returns with a supreme release, as this time they present a 'newish' producer, who's a bit different from the rest within our movement. Hailing from Germany, attracted by Aphex Twin, inspired by The Prodigy's debut album and doing Psyrance music over the last 20 years, the project under the name Z-NEO is something new to the Nu-Rave that you won't skip at all. On the contrary, Z-NEO seems very aware of all things Hardcore, furthermore he's thrived in the almighty German school of Hardcore Rave, which is always respectfull.

"In the early 90s when breakbeat hardcore had its peak, coming from Germany and neither doing music on real gear (pure 8-Bit-sampling on the Amiga) nor having a DAT-recorder disqualified us for getting in contact with labels haha….. and forced us to keep our tracks for ourselves and for our friends. We were really upset when the music developed past the early 90’s breakbeat hardcore – which meant while Jungle and DnB were getting bigger, the last remaining bits of breakbeat hardcore turned mostly into 4 to da floor-music which wasn’t our cup of tea. So back then we somehow lost the chance ever to release some proper breaks.

Through the years from time to time I made some breakbeats, mostly just for fun, and also released two tracks on a German label in 2002 (big up to Risk Indust). About two years ago I noticed that there was a kind of comeback for hardcore breakbeat so I decided to do some tracks, but just for funzies. Once I’d finished 3 tracks, I sent them to the German label ‘Dragon Technicals’ (big up to Systec, Shar-Pei and Sweetseal) and these guys were very kind, friendly and helpful. I can’t thank them enough. They made the contact with Rave Radio Records and here we are" - Z-NEO Interview on Rave Radio Records Blog. Read full of it HERE

His new record is entitled 'New Hope' and it's comprised of four incredible tracks (+ one digital, extra) of crispy breakbeats, rave stabs and euphoric riffs influenced quite a lot by an early mastermind called Liam Howlett, a bit of Belgian R&S and the intensive beats and bass of his local buddies over Dragon Technicals Records.
All things considered it's really hard to pick a favourite track from this record. However, 'For You Love' is one of those tracks that totally represent Hardcore 2021, and it incarnates that new hope we all have for the dancefloor relaunching.
By far one of the toppest releases out there at the moment and a proud 10/10 from us to the whole effort and result by the artist and the label.

You shall pre-order your copies now and be priviledged of the 10% sale before the official release date plus you'll get a free instant digital download, free limited edition stickers and a free bonus track!
The shipping date is around mid-April under the wings of this amazing crew from Brighton, the hard working Rave Radio Records.

'No Way Out' - New release by DJ Sinister

Aussie based DJ Sinister, makes his debut release over the Dutch label, Free Rats and first thing to notice is the variety of styles inside this EP.
Sinister is experimenting various styles, creating 3 original tracks of blended styles. Take for instance 'New Deal', a track which is a good call to the late '80s, early '90s Acid House and Rave era and it's surely our highlight from this release. On top of that there's also three remixes included by M005, B Splixx and Mosis Overdosis, and all of them giving justice to the original tracks.
'No Way Out' is by far one of the best personal releases by our good friend, DJ Sinister, who's showcasing ideally his broadened horizons!
