Looking for some Blade Runner-esque, dystopian, sci-fi beats with your drum & bass? Then let Allowance Records' brand new signing, Coman Dante take you into the future with his mammoth forthcoming 6-track EP, 'The First Strike'. 

The EP opens in thundering fashion with the menacing 'I Waited' which combines heavyweight, 2-step breaks with buzz-saw bass effects and a twisting synth line to create a moodily atmospheric stepper to get the ball rolling. The equally ominous sounding 'Insomnia' follows next in similar fashion to it's predecessor with added jarring synth stabs reminiscent of the murder scene from the Alfred Hitchcock classic suspense flick, 'Psycho'.

'This Means War' adds a massive, warped and twisting synth line to a throbbing bassline and hectic, stepping drum-break while 'Habits' throws a growling, angry bass riff over an unrelenting, militant break peppered with equally fierce rap vocal fragments.

Coman Dante then introduces a tear-out amen break to 'The Future' which is backed up by a soaring pads, fluttering trance-style synth riff and a deep, and rasping bass which contrasts the lighter elements perfectly. The concluding track to 'The First Strike' package, 'To Your Stations', sees even more rapid fire amen edits backed by battering-ram kickdrum accents set to an epic and apocalyptic soundscape.

If the sounds of dancefloor focused, neuro D&B of artists like Bad Company, Ed Rush & Optical and Ram Trilogy floated your boat in the late nineties/early noughties, then it is safe to say that Coman Dante has just the package just for you right here.
