Words stop when it's about Nu-rave king and established Breakbeat producer from Lodz/Poland, the man like NEFTI, who's into another direction over the last 2 years getting himself sometimes raw with his special hard beats and other times keeping his sweet pianos onto tough Rave Breaks!
NEFTI has run an extremely good year with various events and banging releases with the highlight of course his 12track '15 year Anniversary Album' celebrating truly his 15 years into the game of Breaks!

Old Skool Festival 2016 - Interview with NEFTI

Nu-Rave king and Polish super hero, scratchmeister and mainly a down to earth guy has showed me personally that apart from his music skills, he has a skillful good heart aswell. There is nobody in the scene who doesn't know him or love any of his tunes. He's into the game over the last 15 years, getting his name as a trademark to Nu-Rave, Piano Breakbeats and HCB.
We caught up Nefti backstage on the VIP area during the Old Skool Festival 2016 and grabbed the chance to have an interview off the nice chat we had!
So here we are with the Polish Patriot, the #1 hero of the underground in Lodz, Hardcore Breaks legend, the one and only Nefti!

Let's see...Who are your influences?
Well, I would have to say the scratchmaster SY and 'Experience' by The Prodigy got me into this music and influencing my DJ'ing and producing,
When I first heard 'Experience' I was blown away by this music and seeked out more material by The Prodigy and searched for similar artists from the Rave scene.
Years ago also, DJ SY came to Poland with MC Ruff (R.I.P.) and I was listening to him mixing these Rave tunes together with his cutting and scratching, that really influenced me. I wanted to be able to do the same, so I practised and practised.
I got hold of copiess of the Ultimate Breaks 12"s and some cheap turntables to try to be able to do what SY was doing!

So what do you have coming up Nefti?
Well, I'm working on a Rave Force EP at the minute for Intensive Recordings, which is my label. It's going to be a 3 track EP and I'm very excited about the vocal on one of the tunes!

I've decided to use the name Rave Force for my Hardcore Breaks material now, which is what people like and know me for, because I feel the Nefti sound has changed from that now.
It has evolved and moved on into new territory.
I may also release some Drum & Bass on Intensive but using the Intensive Tech sub label.
What has been your best gigs to date?
Hmm, there are 2 that always come to mind. Innovation in Poland in 2010, that was huge getting to play with Aquasky, Ratpack & Baby D and also huge for me was the opportunity to play at The Community Rave 2012. Live in Canada! WOW!!
So let's talk about your producing. What are your favourite tools?
Well I've been using FL (Fruity Loops) since the early 2000s, Serum is my favourite synth to get that big bass. I find it easier to use than the more popular Massive.
Unfortunately, I have lost lots of my old projects due to a harddrive failure, this is sad, but I can only move on and make better new material I guess!
Since those early days I have progressed from producing to sound engineering, learning a lot from another Polish legend, CJ Reign. He taught me lots of tips with mastering, mixing, eqing, how to use the software, a big shout has also got to go to Sanxion, he gave me lots of advice on how to improve my sound.
Awesome! OK, before we go, who are your top artists?
Sanxion! This man IS the sound of Rave Breaks/Future Jungle, he has perfected it, it's his sound. The mixdowns, the style of the genre, it is him, if his name is not on the
release, he probably is on the controls behind it!
The Prodigy, because they are the masters, no one can say otherwise, they have been there since the beginning and are still at the top now, no one else comes near!
Damage Inc., exciting, you never know what you are going to get but you can tell it's a Damage Inc. tune. Great sound and real Rave feeling!
I may also release some Drum & Bass on Intensive but using the Intensive Tech sub label.

Intensive18:: Nefti - The Game EP [out on 6th March 2015 - INTENSIVE RECORDINGS]

A brand new EP from 1 of the legends in the scene!
Nefti has a new EP release in March - you know that's essential listening/mixing/skankin material! Nefti is like a Rave machine,he delivers the goods consistantly!
The Polish producer/DJ has made his mark long ago and continues to show why he is one of the most important names in Rave Music. This is his new release 'The Game EP', the 18th release on Intensive! Let's check the tunes out!
The Game:
Starting off with lush Trance vibes and a teasing filtered breakbeat you know Nefti's gonna deliver something special! Dropping into new territory for Nefti a dirty, Techy bassline leads the way showing a new direction for Nefti's work?
Lots of little chops and Old Skool stabs subtly used in the background before the tune drops into the opening Trance flava again with that filtered break letting you know the bass is about to drop again! Simple? Yes, but the 3 important elements stand out, great breakbeats, big dirty bass and that nice Trance riff. This is one that is going to work on the dancefloors and on the radio shows, I for one will be playing this tune as I know it will go down a treat!

Love Me:
Ok, now this sounds like more familiar Nefti style Rave music!
Kicks off with Nefti's trademark Piano and Beats - somehow Nefti always seems to twist pianos and beats into something that instantly screams Nefti!
Little vocal chops "If you wanna love me" give the track it's title, then, Pow!
Nefti's new experiments into Bass music show he's already awesome Rave music maturing into new flavas and promise an incredible future for his music and forthcoming tracks!

Rave Force,Amigos Forever (Nefti Remix):
Breakbeats start the ball rolling into an acid led bassline that drops into a piano and bleep break that uses the familiar 'Amigos Forever'riff, this drops straight into some dirty, twisting bass! Nefti promised he wanted to make his Rave music have some more Bass/Jungle elements and he's certainly delivering without losing his vocal/piano signature sound! Personally I think this is very important that he hasn't lost his trademark sound while moving and merging into new musical territory!

The Game (NeuroNative Remix):
I dont know who NeuroNative is but could this be a tease of the future of this label and direction of this sound?! Very nicely produced,starts off very Trancey even with a 4/4 kick and bass sound before dropping into some nice little breaks!
Very lush sounding with a vocal pad and risers building into what sounds like a twisted Reese basss is to come!

Overall,a solid and essential purchase!
Stands out musically and quality wise!

[INTENSIVE017] NEFTI 'Music Is My Life' [out on Intensive Recordings]
A friendly producer/dj of me, my radio show and Strictly Nuskool Blog's crew, and an established member of the HCB and Nu-Rave movement, the very respected Nefti from Poland returns on his personal releases with a 2track EP titled 'Music is my Life' which is out now on his label, Intensive Recordings. Massive hcb and rushing pianos from Lodz hardcore head, who's also following new directions these days experimenting with some jungle breaks as working on new forthcoming stuff on Warehouse Wax.
And.....Anyone wondering who Rave Force is? Well, some of you might know him from his remix on Neurygma's 'Sweet Dreams' some years ago on Intensive Recordings. Just to reveal the id and make it clear, Rave Force is the side project of Nefti and a promising hcb dancefloor act.
