[Vaticaen Production] Marc OFX & Lady EMZ - Antidelikad [Free 4-Track EP Available Now!!!]

1/ Marc OFX & Lady EMZ - Modern Elf.

2/ Marc OFX & Lady EMZ - Come To Rescue Me.

3/ Marc OFX - Tchao Coluche.

4/ Marc OFX - Garden Of Peace (Lonnie Liston Smith Cover).

Taking a quick break from reviewing 140-180bpm hardcore/jungle/drum & bass, we delve into some chilled, trip-hop breaks with the very latest free release from the multi-talented Marc OFX and Lady EMZ with the release of the sublime 'Antidelikad' EP on the Vaticaen Production label.

Things kick off with the moody, downtempo vibe of 'Modern Elf', a combination of dub-reggae beats and piano, double bass strums and jazzy saxophone melodies accompanied by songstress, Lady EMZ's unique vocals. 'Come To Rescue Me' sees Lady EMZ provide more of her lyrical musings over a sleek double-bassline and crisp drum-breaks accompanied by soothing vocal harmonic manipulations.

The EP delves into funk fusion territory with 'Tchao Coluche', of which borrows dialogue from cult '80's, French cinema and melds it onto a low down and dirty trip-hop break to create a head-nodding, yet paranoia steeped slow burner. The final piece to the quartet, 'Garden Of Peace', eases us out by providing the listener with a luscious, dub-hop cover of Lonnie Liston Smith's legendary piano masterpiece.

If you are looking for some lovingly crafted trip-hop to provide the perfect tonic to escape the everyday rush, then look no further than Marc OFX and Lady EMZ's latest offering!!!

The Marc OFX & Lady EMZ 'Antidelika' EP is available to download for free from the Vaticaen Production website, and comes in high quality WAV format...

11 Remastered Oldschool EPs from BLAPPS POSSE

Words are poor when it's about a groundbreaking big act like BLAPPS POSSE from London and classic tunes like "Don't Hold Back", "Too Much Energy" and "Let the Freak" which were sampled and played heavily by DJs over the years as well.
Blapps Posse were a London-based production crew that created some very original sounds in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their music combined house and hip hop influences - strong bass lines and house breaks, fused with the edge of rap vocals and beats.

And so after all these years, you can easily have 11 EPs with their big tunes all made with the kind help and contribution of the hard working Stay on Target, which is behind the idea of mastering the BLAPPS POSSE oldies!

SHIP035:: COCO BRYCE - Dark Dub EP [SHIPWREC]

Design by Raw Parigi

A1 Dark Dub

A2 Mononom

A3 Jungle Book

B1 Mononom (Mesak Remix)

B2 Winter Solstice

B3 Dark Dub (FFF Remix)

Dutch electronic label, SHIPWREC proudly presents its new installment driven by a local multigenre producer (doing from skwee, hip hop, dub, glitch to jungle, breakbeat sounds) the man like COCO BRYCE, dj/producer and owner of his very own vinyl/digital label MYOR.

"Dark Dub EP" is the title of the new offering from the Dutch crew. It consists of 6 tunes, four originally made by Coco Bryce and 2 remixes by his close mate FFF and Finnish producer Mesak.

This EP can be described mainly as electronic in general, as finds himself combining his influences and music skills from skwee to jungle along with the superb work by FFF on a jungle tip and Mesak into a kinda experimental rework on 'Mononom' which must be my personal favourite from this release.

This EP is available now on 12'' and will be out digitally on 28th November

[KOR015] Subessence - Journey Through Vibrations (Forthcoming 28/04/2014)

1/ Crossroads.

2/ Pennelopes Diary.

3/ Symbols.

4/ There After.

5/ Distant Rhythms.

6/ Translation.

7/ Expression.

8/ Introductions.

9/ Autumn Leaves.

10/ Personal Reflection.

11/ Lost The Way.

A change of pace to our usual Strictly NuSkool Blog, 160 BPM tempo releases here. Presenting to you a different style from our usual fare. Kut Off Records pulls out all the stops for their 15th release to bring you their first full length, artist album from music production duo, Subessence, 'Journey Through Vibrations'.

An 11 track collection of relaxed and soothing dub sounds and styles. Veering from lushly down-tempo, ambience as demonstrated by 'Personal Reflection' with it's poignant guitar licks on 'There After', to smooth, 2-step garage infused dubstep, like the warm and sophisticated 'Symbols'.
'Distant Rhythms' conjures up memories of smoky hazed, chill-out sessions while 'Translation's 'ticking clock' bleeps sets your mind to a contemplative state.
However the standout track for me just has got to be the absolutely gorgeous sounding 'Pennelopes Diary' which heavily features haunting Middle Eastern flutes and sumptuous female vocals over driving dub beats. Gorgeously atmospheric.

If you appreciate the sounds of Nightmares On Wax, 4 Hero, MJ Cole, Boards Of Canada and Massive Attack, then prepare for Subessence to provide you with the perfect soundtrack to forthcoming balmy Summer nights.
