After a 3 year period of slumber the mighty Liquid Boppers label makes a welcome comeback to the world of liquid drum and bass with the release of 'The Return', an eight track album featuring the very best in underground, liquid drum & bass talent.

We are first introduced to the immensely uplifting sounds of 'Can't Do Without It' by Simple Souls & MC Astro, which sees soul diva vocals meet rhythm and blues piano melodies, set to a thundering combination of breaks and bass and Astro's positive vibed, lyrical flow. 
Miss Guided presents to us a spine-tingling example of soulful, Motown style R&B meets liquid D&B with 'Choose You', where yearning female vocals intermingle with steppin' breaks and warm bass notes to deliver a fine example of soul & bass.

Ji Ben Gong returns to the Liquid Boppers fold bringing with him a contemplative slice of piano led jungle with 'Lost Past', a track which expertly adds a touch of wistful melancholia, with it's use of minor keys, to a soundtrack of frenetic beats.
Up next we see Link drop a potent dose of uplifting funkadelica, with 'Live Life', an energetic number, jam-packed with '70's flavours deftly engineered to get your feet moving on the dancefloor and put a smile on your face.

Taking us back to the present we have Marcus Tee deliver some deep and soulful liquid grooves with 'My Groove' which incorporates luscious, Good Looking style, synth melodies and spoken word, female vocals over a fusion of crisp breaks and jazzy bassline.
'Creamy Clouds' sees Woodtekr join forces with legendary chanteuse, Lady Emz who lends her unmistakable, freestyle vocal refrains to a precision crafted 2-step backing and jazz 'n' bass fusion guaranteed to get people's head nodding in approval.

The last stretch introduces TC's hauntingly soulful 'The Sun', which pairs intricate breaks and enveloping sub bass with fragile, heavily reverberating male vocals, reminiscent of Burial's trademark, cavernous dubstep sound.
Bringing the collection to a close we have The Seventh Plane who presents 'Decisions', an epic and exhilarating marriage of rapid-fire beats and ascending/descending bass, set to sumptuous pads and poignant synth pattern to pull at your heart-strings.

The Liquid Boppers brand may have been absent, but with 'The Return' album marking it's reemergence to the scene, the label proves that it has been far from resting on it's laurels. An essential purchase for any lover of liquid drum & bass!

Exit Point sets the ball rolling first with his very own reworking of the dub flavoured, jungle anthem. Jam packed with rolling breaks, rock-steady guitar licks and a deep subsonic bassline that'll get you one-foot skanking in seconds. Up next the Jungle Raiders collective introduce us to their hi-octane reinterpretation, which teases us with it's stripped back intro before delivering a deadly amen assault midway.

DJ Devastate drops a head-nodding, 2-step break and pulsating bassline for his heavyweight remix, before we are hit with Effekttz' mentasm fuelled, drum & bass workout. 

Opening up the second half we have Krispe who adds a little bit of oldskool flavour to his rinsing re-imagining of 'Badman Style'. DJ QT drops a snappy stepping breakbeat to his contribution, interlaced with a potent blend of dub horns, police sirens and ragga chatter. 

For his effort, Sunjah teases the listener with a positively lush intro before delivering a machine-gunfire amen, choppage assault peppered with choice 'Human Traffic' samples (yeah, you' know what it it'll be a mile off!!!). Closing off the selection we have Konz who takes us on a darker path with his sleek and stealthy D&B/jungle hybrid.

Two underground drum and bass behemoths forge a mighty allegiance on the very latest release from respected D&B label, Red Alfa Records. The ever prolific Distrax and Red Alfa label mate Decibel Lecter combine their distinctive talents to deliver the 'Unprecedented Algorithms' album. Featuring eight razor-sharp drum and bass, future anthems, prepare yourself for the clash of the Titans!!!

Distrax is first up to the plate with 'Something New', a sublime combination of rolling breaks, thundering bass throbs and a melancholic synth melody that evokes the works of Burial and Boards Of Canada. Sparring partner Decibel Lecter delivers his musical retort next with 'Worlds Collide', which layers an eclectic selection of vocal and sonic elements over a rock-solid, stepping breakbeat and massive, bass heavy riff section. Things go a little darker on 'Living In The Fear Of Jungle', which expertly fuses together menacing drum & bass and jungle influences before introducing a immense, euphoric drop to break through the darkness.

'Run It Red' sees a sultry, diva's spoken words espousing a message of positivity interwoven through a series of crisp and precise, clockwork beats and spine-tingling stabs that'll get all ravers' hands in the air. The opening bars of 'Gonna Get Sorted' delivers an unrelenting, gritty breaks pattern which is contrasted by a succession of warped, acid-frequencies flowing throughout. We are then taken on a roller-coaster ride, deep into the darkside of drum & bass with 'Nightmares', where a mammoth, electric-shock stab section from the bowels of hell does battle with monstrous bass notes and nightmarish, horror-themed dialogue.

'Something New' receives an oppressively dark, V.I.P. makeover from Decibel Lecter, who utilises classic Ultramagnetic MC's, shuffling breaks alongside harsh synth notes and menacing atmospherics. Distrax then returns the favour by rounding off the album with his equally dark 'Worlds Colllide V.I.P.', which strips the original mix back to it's bare bones and adds haunting pads, skeletal breaks and low-end bass rumblings to great effect.

With 'Unprecidented Algorithims', Distrax And Decibel Lector offers their own unique and richly influenced take on the drum and bass formula, offering an excellent selection of expertly produced and hard-hitting future classics. Brand new drum & bass and jungle label, Wicked Jungle Records gathers up momentum for the label's debut album launch, with the release of 'Wicked Jungle Vol 1'. A mighty selection of eight underground drum & bass tracks encompassing all styles withing the D&B and jungle spectrum.

Kicking off with a fine, uplifting slice of upfront D&B from Holohedron, 'Poisoned Idea' opens the album with an enervating, euphoric synth melody and electronically manipulated vocal effects before the track mutates into a massive, rasping neuro-tech bass riff. Up next, Raket delivers an exhilarating fusion of rattling 'Think' break percussion combined with growling bass throbs and electrifying, trance stabs with 'Roads'.

Fathom then takes us back to a time where militant 2-step breaks and amen edits met with ominous atmospherics and monstrous Reese bass notes ruled the jungle airwaves, with his heavyweight, tech-step revisioning, 'Recon'. After all the darkness of the previous track, it's up to Spinscott to bring us back into the light again with 'The Greeting', a sparse, yet  intricately crafted piece of jungle breakbeatism, accentuated with gorgeous spine-tingling synth notes. 

2Brainz unleashes a manic, jazz-tinged slab of pitched-down, amen break choppage with the hectically paced and infectiously joyous, 'Unbelievable' before we are introduced to The Renegades' very own distillation of oldskool hardcore and jungle in the form of their jungle-footwork hybrid, 'Battle Tested And Approved'.

'The Blame Game' by Self Aware takes us into the latter reaches of 'Wicked Jungle Vol 1', and fuses snappy percussive notes alongside heavy 2-step breaks before an ominous synth melody and buzz-saw bass notes take over. Then we are greeted with Sophistics' roughneck closing track, 'Explode'. Which features a barrage of dark atmospherics, menacing ragga threats and dubwise clanks threaded throughout a solid stepping breakbeat with added amen edits. 

With 'Wicked Jungle Vol 1', the label provides an excellent selection of drum & bass and jungle tracks which showcases the label's eclectic scope for future releases, as well a offering up a top selection of high quality music for both the feet and the mind.
