After a short break from their regular weekly release schedule, Viral-Mental Records are back with a vengeance, revisiting Skorpz's 2015 neuro, drum & bass belter, 'Killa Cops' to present five huge remixes for 2016 featuring DROMA, Hektic, Uzi, Paladin as well as Skorpz's tearing original and brand new VIP mix.
Skorpz leads the assault with his heavyweight 'Killa Cops (VIP Mix)'. A nasty combination of rock solid 2-step breaks fused with menacing rap samples and a monstrous bass riff that'll get heads a nodding. DROMA presents his razor sharp neuro-funk remix next, and drops intricate, rhythmic percussion sections over a stepping break and sinister bass drones. Hekitic introduces his amen break edit flavoured reinterpretation next, which is propelled by an infectious combination of vibrato bass notes which soon morphs into an energetic bouncing bassline.
We are then taken into the jungle with Uzi's rough and rugged re-lick, which combines moody, low frequency pulses with a thundering 'Think' break backing and industrial ominous, off-kilter sound effects to ramp up the tension. Paladin increases the pressure with his stripped back remix, which splices together spine-tingling, time-stretched percussive elements layered over a minimal 2-step break before we are reintroduced to Skorpz's militant sounding 'Original Mix' to perfectly bookend the 'Killa Cops Remixes ' EP.
