[JEDI 23] Rave 2 The Grave - Return Of The Vibe [Available To Purchase Now From Jedi Recordings!!!]

A1 - Give A Little Love.

A2 - Scratch Samples.

B1 - NRG.

B2 - Scratch Sample.

Jedi Recordings joins forces with legendary breakbeat, happy hardcore label, Stormtrooper Recordings to celebrate their 25th year anniversary with the unveiling of Rave 2 The Grave's 'Return Of The Vibe' single. Perfectly capturing that pivotal 1992 rave era, it's time for Rave 2 The Grave take us back to the oldskool...

We are first introduced to a proper hands-in-the-air, piano anthem with 'Give A Little Love' which incorporates iconic Lisa Stansfield vocals with crunching breaks, contemplative piano melody and thundering breaks. The track blindsides us with it's melancholia tinged first third, before unleashing a jaw-dropping, amen fuelled stab-fest of a drop midway. This one's gonna have dance-floors exploding for sure!!!

The flipside, 'NRG' follows a similar path as it's companion piece with it's focus on pianos, rolling breaks and instantly recognisable rave diva vocals (Bby D anyone?). The 1992 vibe is amplified even further by the inclusion of a deep, bleepy stab pattern combined with an abrasive hoover section that'll get all air-horns and whistles blaring in the place.

As if all this wasn't enough to convince you, then the 12" comes equipped with bonus scratch samples, as featured on both tracks for all you turntablists to cut up and compliment your sets with.

There appears to be a resurgence in all things oldskool hardcore at present, and Rave 2 The Grave's contribution to this rave movement cements just what makes oldskool just as compelling in 2019 as it was 27 years ago. Don't delay! Order today!!!

[CRTNPR019] Scale, Parallel + DJ Fox - From Machines With Love / Helios [Limited Edition 12" Vinyl Available To Buy Now From Criterion Records!!!]

A-Side - Scale + Parallel - From Machines With Love.

B-Side - Scale + DJ Fox - Helios.

Criterion Records make their long-awaited return to the scene with their very latest vinyl-only offering, 'From Machines With Love / Helios'. This time enrolling the talents of pioneering drum & bass producers Scale, Parallel and DJ Fox all with a collective output spanning a broad range of highly esteemed labels, including Aphacut, Foundation X, Logical Direction, DSCI4, Subtle Audio, Monochrome Recordings to name but a few.

Scale and Parallel take no prisoners with 'From Machines With Love', a track which invokes the essence of vintage, Blue Note era techstep with it's use of hard-stepping Funky Mule breaks spliced with tearing amens, dark atmospherics and thundering bass booms. The track showcases the use of precision crafted beat programming that rivals the likes of Dillinja and Source Direct in their heyday, set to a bleak and ominous soundscape that will get followers of dark D&B craving for more.

The B-Side sees Scale return once more alongside DJ Fox on 'Helios', which opens to a series of languid, Boards Of Canada style synths which soon flow into crisp, rolling breaks before unleashing a tearing amen break laced with moody pads. As 'Helios' progresses we are then hit with flashes of jarring, hardcore stab riffs, a la Nasty Habits circa 1992, to interrupt the mellow vibe of the track.

As always Criterion Records, alongside Scale, Parallel and DJ Fox present yet another expertly crafted section of deep and atmospheric drum & bass tracks aimed squarely at the vinyl connoisseurs out there.

The limited edition Scale, Parallel and DJ Fox, 'From Machines With Love / Helios' 12" vinyl is available to purchase now for €10.00 (+ P&P) from the Criterion Records webstore link below.

[CRTNPR 015] FFF - Badman Touchdown / Sense Of Summer / Usually Peaceful + [CRTNPR 016] Drum Cypha, Sun God / Ghosts Of Jupiter [12" Singles Available To Buy Now From Criterion Records!!!]

A-Side - Badman Tuchdown.
B1-Side -Sense Of Summer.
B2-Side - Usually Peaceful.

With a musical career of junglistic exploration spanning over two decades, the highly prolific Netherlands based producer FFF (aka Triple-Times-F) presents his Criterion Records label debut with three stunning pieces of forward thinking jungle only available on vinyl.

The EP opens with the deep and dark atmospheric tones of ‘Badman Touchdown’, which expertly combines the experimentalism of vintage, drum and bass with rugged, ragga soundclash junglism. If you can imagine Remarc joining the Metalheadz crew, circa 1995 then you’ll be close to how this one sounds.
Up next the ‘Sense Of Summer’ fuses together a fierce blend of frantic, hard-stepping breaks and thunderous bass pulses juxtaposed by soothing, jazzy Rhode’s keys to create a perfect balance of light and dark elements.
Rounding off the collection, FFF delivers a brutally effective, jazz-jungle fusion with ‘Usually Peaceful’ which meshes together tear-out amens and warm Reese bass drones with funkified guitar licks and metallic sounding, time-stretched, breakbeat manipulations.

FFF delivers an essential tryptich of contemporary jungle tracks on wax that'll perfectly compliment any nuskool junglist DJ's set,

The limited edition FFF 'Badman Touchdown / Sense Of Summer / Usually Peaceful' 12" vinyl is available to purchase now for €10.00 (+ P&P) from the Criterion Records webstore link below, and has been mastered by Sappo Mastering.

______________________________________________________________________

A-Side - Sun God.

B-Side - Ghosts Of Jupiter.

Drum Cypha makes a welcome return to Criterion Records for his first solo label outing, and he brings with him two exhilarating excursions into the deeper side of drum & bass.

With ‘Sun God’ we are presented with a series of hauntingly atmospheric pads and reversed keys, which soon evolves into an adrenalising fusion of rolling amen breaks, subsonic bass tones and electrifying mentasm flashes.
‘Ghosts Of Jupiter’ on the flipside layers rapid-fire, amen edits over a deep, rumbling bassline over ghostly pads and fragments of movie dialogue to create a precision crafted fusion of rugged and ethereal sounds.

If expertly crafted drumwork combined with deep, dub flavoured undercurrents is your drum & bass bag, then Drum Cypha's latest offering is a must have addition for your vinyl collection!!!

The limited edition FFF 'Sun God / Ghosts Of Jupiter' 12" vinyl is available to purchase now for €10.00 (+ P&P) from the Criterion Records webstore link below, and has been mastered by Sappo Mastering.
