After a year and two months after it's last emergence had passed , a stirring in the darkness has occurred and Dead Beat Records has returned from the void from which it was banished, to unleash it's second, vinyl only outing. This time it's the Silkenator (aka Worldwide Epidemic) who takes the helm with the release of 'Trapped / The System', two essential slices of jungle techno  straight from the darkside!!!

First up we are presented with the sounds of 'Trapped's deep, and sinister opening pad sounds to install a pertinent sense of dread in the listener, before unravelling a succession of skittish breaks and pounding, 4/4 kicks to get drive the track on. The moodiness is amplified by the inspired use of choice 'Cloverfield Lane', sci-fi-horror samples and a pad driven drop to die for making this a futurist, darkcore gem that'll be a go to for any self-respecting jungle techno fanatic.

On the flip-side, 'The System' continues on with a similar "trapped", sci-fi theme by welding together snippets of dialogue from 1997's 'The Cube' with a relentless combination of kicks and breaks, backed by enveloping, dark pads and bubbling, synth riffs. 'The System' effortlessly creates an atmosphere of pure tension, leaving the listener entrapped within it's own rhythmic maze.

We may have had an long wait for Dead Beat Records' comeback, but with the Silkenator in tow, our patience has well and truly rewarded. Do not hesitate on pick up your copy, as there are only 100 of the out there!!!

We are first introduced to 'The Prophet', a thundering blend of unrelenting kickdrums overlaid with crisp breaks, bubbling acidic bassline and a razor-sharp, technoid synth melody. 'The Prophet' combines the very best of retro-futuristic jungle tekno sound, whilst presenting an altogether modern take on those vintage 1993-1994 themes.

Companion piece 'Tribal Movement' follows suit with the 4/4 kick meets breakbeat, j-tek soundclash, but introduces a series of 303 tweaks alongside deep and dark pads that evoke memories of classic Formation Records darkness before hitting you with a positively euphoric breakdown in the midsection.

The vintage jungle-tekno sound of 1993/1994 was a short lived, yet highly progressive period within the history of rave music. With the release of the 'Better That Sound E.P.', The Wize Guys and Kambo Records set out to carry on the legacy of legendary jungle-tekno labels such as Smooth Recordings, Basement Records and Sound Entty Records.

We are first greeted to the darkly atmospheric opening of 'Da Marimbula', which soon involves into a stepping, Think break jungle cut, heavily steeped in dub bass and chiming, techno melodies. Title track, 'Better That Sound' up next carries on in a similar fashion with it's combination of crisp breaks overlaid with a deep bassline, sinister strings and pounding 4/4 kicks.

Things get serious with 'Symmetry', a full-pelt jungle tekno bomb composed of ominous, descending pads, rolling, layered breaks and thundering kickdrums, and if that wasn't enough for you then the razor-sharp synth stabs will satisfy all your J-Tek needs. The collection is rounded off by the Fast Floor-esque, dub-hardcore-techno fusion 'Shadow Tactics', an expertly composed track immersed in a pitch black atmospherics.

With this collection of tracks, The Wize Guys succeed in their mission to trail-blaze the jungle-tekno flame well into 2017 with these four excellent, contemporary hardcore/techno cuts!!!
