JMT- Warehouse Daze LP [Love Dove Recordings]

JMT takes it back to the halcyon days of early UK Rave with a whole album: Warehouse Daze. '

Never Be Alone' is in the vein of those big Rachel Wallace tunes from back in the day, switching between anthemic piano and Korg M1 keys

'The Truth' switches gears with a pacey funky drummer, 303s and subtle shades of European early Rave (Capella, DJ Professor..) before dropping the motherload of big piano! '

'Mind Flux' seemingly nods to Manchester legends, N-Joi with fierce acid pads, tough beats and dark Rave aesthetics circa 91/92

'Without You' is the undisputed hands in the air moment of this album, combining breaks, 4x4 beats, heartstring tugging vocals and the absolute daddy of all instruments (you will come across the word 'piano' a lot in this review, it's the nature of the game, bay bay!)

'Dancing In The Rain' opens with rain and thunder samples and layered breaks, leading into a weighty first breakdown, punctuated by deep subs, rave 101 piano and familiar vocals (if you know, you know).

'Take 'Em Higher' delivers on the titles promise from the opening beat, channeling that 91/92 vibe with added, crisp and brisk breaks, adding some trancey strings at the mid point.

'Hooked' enters the Jungle with a warm, hopeful sounding roller that tips a respectful smiley bucket hat to the classic 'Renegade Snares' while sprinkling in a touch of darkness

'Beautiful People, Beautiful Vibes' throws metaphorical hands to the roof, led by Ragga MC call and response lyrics and Ragga Rave stabs, pattern switches and hoovers.

'Hold You Tight' leans into the Northern England/Scotland/Europe brand of Piano Rave with a breathless, inspiring vocal.

'Intoxicated' takes it right back to 91 with some good old 4x4 Hardcore Rave, complete with mentasms and deep string sections in the blueprint light vs dark style of the era.

And this closes out the album- a pure love letter to what many consider the golden era of Rave music. Stick some white gloves on, throw on a high viz jacket, pop a whistle on a string round your neck and make sure to grab this album!
