Altern 8 - Frequency 2025 Remixes

More than thirty years after it first detonated across UK dancefloors, 'Frequency' still carries the voltage of an era that shaped rave culture forever. Born in a bedroom in a small village and eventually immortalised as a hand-numbered 10,001 copy run in 1991, the track has enjoyed a strangely elastic afterlife covered by Soulwax, bootlegged endlessly, used as the riotous closer for Altern 8’s own live shows, and even sampled by Charli XCX, who went on to open her gigs with it. That renewed spotlight has paved the way for a new 2025 remix suite, and the result is a set that proves the track’s DNA hasn’t aged a day.

Altern 8’s Mark Archer teams up with Shadow Child for the M.A.S.C. version, a muscular, club-ready overhaul that pushes the track into tougher house territory while keeping its frenzy intact. Tenerife's legendary figure DJ Jonay opts for an old-school flavoured breakbeat driven rework, while Aries steers things into full-throttle jungle, firing off at festival-level intensity.
Finally, Kin drags the track through an amen-heavy time warp: a “back to ’91” blast of breakbeats and low-end that salutes the scene’s hardcore roots while pushing its chaos into modern DnB weight.

The 2025 edition of this iconic record reframes a piece of rave folklore for a new generation. Four radically different versions, each proving why 'Frequency' never stopped echoing through the culture. Limited-edition vinyl, cheeky artwork nodding back to Charli XCX’s aesthetic, and a package that hits as hard as the original. A true legend, recharged rather than resurrected.

The new vinyl EP by FFF on BXL Underground

Brussels based BXL Underground continue offering some high class releases. Known for moving effortlessly between rough-cut hardcore, shadowy downtempo, and weapons-grade rave artillery, the label resurfaces with a fresh blast from the subterranean: a double hit from Dutch jungle don, FFF (aka Tommy De Roos).

FFF’s entry into the catalogue comes in the form of two floor-leveling tracks. First up with 'Ecstasy Unreal' evoking a full-throttle emotion on a massive jungle cut that pours out pure rave euphoria. On the flipside it's Monotron_NL remix on FFF's 'Scream For Acid' - an acid-infused hardcore breaks vibe. Worth to mention that this remix sees the 'vinylized' light after living for many years as a proper underground favorite, seeing also a spotlight moment at Coco Bryce's Boiler Room set. It was originally first released as a bonus track on an Encounters Records compilation back in 2012. Additionally, the EP has also an exclusive digital ravey tune from him as label's little wink.

All in all, this new installment of BXL Underground is second to none. The label continues to deliver quality and there's more to come from the hard working team behind it.
This new EP is available to grab on vinyl and digitally via Bandcamp - and don't forget that the next Bandcamp Day is on 5th of December.

Next event of FFF is gonna be huge (again!). He’s going head-to-head with BASECK for a “History of Breakcore” showcase. BASECK, the Los Angeles dynamo known for turntablist gymnastics and hardware-driven improvisation, has been twisting breakcore into new shapes since the early ’90s. Together, the two will map out the genre’s evolution on PRSPCT's upcoming event at Maasilo, Rotterdam on 29th November 2025 - Tickets

The New Frames debut on PRSPCT

PRSPCT once again proves why they remain one of the most uncompromising forces in underground electronic music.

After years of anticipation the Berlin duo New Frames finally unleash their debut on the label with a razor-sharp four-track EP that distills the imprint’s ethos into pure, high-pressure sonic energy.

Formed by Mathis Mootz (The Panacea) and David Frisch, New Frames have carved out a distinct corner of the modern electronic landscape: one where techno, industrial, hardcore, and drum & bass collide with surgical precision. On PRSPCT332, that fusion becomes a fully realized statement. The EP channels the raw voltage of early techno-rave culture while injecting it with contemporary grit, tension, and atmospherics. Every track feels engineered for impact—steeped in momentum, layered with detail, and impossible to categorize within a single genre box. It’s music built for dark rooms, heavy systems, and bodies that refuse to stop moving.

And there couldn’t be a more fitting backdrop for its arrival than PRSPCT’s upcoming event: 'THE MOTHER OF ALL RAVES' , taking place on 29 November 2025 at Maassilo, Rotterdam. If the EP is a warning shot, the party is the full assault. PRSPCT promises to go harder, darker, and louder than ever before. The lineup guarantees a night of relentless drum & bass, hardcore, breakcore, industrial, and the many mutant forms in between. This is a gathering built for those who live for the extremes: no sleep, no mercy, no compromise.

As New Frames push the boundaries of what PRSPCT stands for in the studio, the Maassilo event will echo that same unyielding spirit in physical form.

The New Frames - PRSPCT332 EP will be out digitally and on vinyl on 28th of November

Earl Grey & Aroma Nice on new adventures

Manchester heavyweight duet of Earl Grey and Aroma Nice (together a.k.a the boundary-pushing duo Monologue) unite once again for their latest collaborative venture under the 'greek flavored' name, Polymania. Renowned for their adventurous work across the overlapping spheres of modern Drum & Bass, Jungle and Drumfunk, the pair bring their shared sonic language to a record steeped in rave heritage and sharpened by years of joint experimentation.

Their new joint project is officially described as "a euphoric ravey jungle affair with strong acidic inflections, extrovert and dancefloor-focussed, where effortlessly slick percussive flair shines and rolling acid lines squirt out through the seams - the result of two long-time friends with heaps of production experience having a lot of fun."

The opener ‘Farce of Nature’ offers its high-energy stabs and a weighty, grooving bassline. Its roots lie in early ’90s jungle-techno, but Earl Grey and Aroma Nice polish it into high-definition, dancefloor-ready form. A2 is ‘Happy Slaps’ keeps the momentum alive, pairing crisp, agile drums with an undulating resonant acid line. The track embodies the duo’s signature mix of rave exuberance and expert rhythmic craft. On ‘Tank Ammo’, the pair heighten the euphoria, while the closer ‘Give U Up’ eases the tempo slightly and turns up the funk as a proper bouncy acid-breaks bubbler laced with lush braindance melodies and an infectious vocal hook.

To mark this release there's a launch party taking place at Eastern Bloc Records in Manchester on 19th December 2025. Expect the full Monologue chemistry on display as the pair deliver a 6-hour back-to-back. It’s a rare opportunity to catch the duo stretching out, exploring the full spectrum of their influences, and celebrating Polymania in true rave-native fashion. (info)

The Polymania EP comes out on 12 December via Love Love Records on 12" Vinyl and digitally.

Up Ya Archives pres. Janaway

British-Brazilian producer Janaway has unleashed his personal 'International Luv' EP, kicking off the rollout with its lead single '50/50 Vision,' featuring MC Tchelinho and Arinola. The single is out now via Up Ya Archives Records - the 7-month year old exciting imprint of Nia Archives.

Serving as the defining statement of the EP, '50/50 Vision' encapsulates Janaway’s mission to create borderless, forward-thinking jungle. The single blends driving breakbeats with the rich character of Brazilian vocal stylings, all filtered through the UK underground perspective that has become central to Janaway’s sound. The result is a club-ready, transcontinental collaboration that connects cultures through rhythm and energy.

The title plays on the idea of '20/20 vision,' reflecting Janaway’s lived experience as a dual-heritage artist who sees both of his cultures with equal clarity. This theme of duality runs throughout the project, expressed through hybrid sonics, shared stories, and carefully chosen collaborators. Its accompanying visuals reinforce this narrative, capturing Janaway with his creative community and highlighting the personal foundations of the release.

'50/50 Vision' brings together two artists who represent the core influences that shape Janaway’s identity. MC Tchelinho, a key figure in Rio’s Heavy Baile collective, delivers high-impact Brazilian energy, while Arinola brings her distinct blend of UK funk and ragga vocal style, adding groove and momentum. Together, the trio craft a vibrant intersection of sound that feels global yet deeply grounded.

Currently based in Bristol, Janaway is part of the new generation pushing jungle into its next chapter. His trademark combination of heavyweight basslines, tight breakbeats, and cross-cultural elements has earned support from leading figures including Nia Archives, Tim Reaper, Sherelle, and Fracture. Known for high-octane DJ sets filled with exclusive material, he moves seamlessly through jungle, footwork, and jungle-funk. Following a European tour and standout performances at Boomtown, Glastonbury, and Outlook Festival, Janaway is emerging as one of the most exciting new voices driving jungle forward.

The release comes out on 3rd of December - available digitally & on vinyl.

The new vinyl EP of Seba & Paradox

The extravaganza duet of Seba & Paradox make a welcome return to their own label with the 6th edition in their series, reaffirming why their partnership remains one of the most consistent. The release is comprised of two cuts.

First one is titled 'In The Air' - a tune driven by rolling breaks, emotive string work and that unmistakable “Can you feel it” hook. On the flipside 'Come With Me' goes deeper and tougher, where Rhodes, chimes and a hypnotic tabla groove push the duo into moodier territory. Original Art returns once more to pen the physical jacket sleeve. And if you’re looking to level up the fit, you can grab the SP Sweater as well.

The release will be officially out on 12th of December and it's available to pre-order now via several stores. Bear in mind that 5th of December marks the very last Bandcamp Day of the year, when all proceeds go directly to the Artists. It fels like the ideal time to make that purchase and show support, in our humble opinion.

GLOWKiD w/ Coco Bryce - Aaja Radio (11.11.2025)

GLOWKiD's recent show at Aaja Radio had the pleasure hosting a brand new mix of the Dutch jungle don, Coco Bryce. Just few weeks before his upcoming new album "Noches Sephardies" cast a light in the jungle world, Coco highlighted some of his new material among the others.

Listen

"Noches Sephardies"
"Steering clear of his usual diet of 90s rave stabs, woolly pads and contemporary R&B vocals, Coco Bryce offers up a full album focussing on non-western sample sources. Drawing from, amongst other things, traditional Azerbaijani folk songs, Indonesian Gamelan experiments, Kenyan Taarab and ancient Sephardi hymns, it traverses half the globe across its ten tracks."

After a well-earned hiatus, Aeon Four resurface with Saturn Rising/Mind Stretch - an EP that reminds us how effortlessly they fuse breakbeat precision with deep emotional pull.

The A-side, 'Saturn Rising', is punchy, streetwise drums drive a rush of luminous pads and celestial melodies that sparkle with that unmistakable Aeon Four touch. Flip to 'Mind Stretch', and the mood shifts inward. Built around a classic deep house vocal sample, the track unfolds in waves of atmosphere, rolling breaks, and subtly hypnotic basslines.

This amazing new EP is pressed on lemon-coloured vinyl. An uplifting yet raw, forward-looking yet nostalgic. Yes! The bros are officially back in orbit.
