JEDI & STORMTROOPER-ROLLER BLADE '25-UPROAR

It's been a while since we've had the pleasure of a new Cantina Cuts. The good news is Jedi & Stormtrooper just dropped a new two track release, available on vinyl and digital.

'Roller Blade 25' is a rebuild of the 2000 banger, infusing (checks Who Sampled) 'Operation Blade' by Public Domain (which in turn samples New Order 'Confusion' (Pump Panel Reconstruction Mix). Most will recognize the riff from the infamous vampire nightclub scene in the movie 'Blade.' 

It's a great riff which always rightfully belonged on a Breakbeat Hardcore sheller. Who better than Jedi & Stormtrooper to take this on! The classic 'Bombscare' beat fits like a glove with the pumping 303 acid line, tried and tested at the raves!

Also tried and tested at the raves is 'Uproar', a true to the oldskool spirit 'ardcore refit of 'Hardcore Uproar' replacing the 4x4 stomp for rolling breaks and replaying the iconic pianos and John Carpenter inspired synths. Here's where you can grab the gold ⬇️

After over a decade of underground hardware-driven experimentation, Japanese techno act, Acid Tamiya 346 have finally unleashed their first-ever vinyl EP and it’s well worth the wait. Known for their completely hardware-synced live setups and a deep devotion to MIDI & DIN SYNC-based jamming, the duo comprised of DieTrax and Jaermulk Manhattan bring a raw, unfiltered energy that’s both retro and fiercely current.

This release features the brand-new acid-laced track 'Acid Eyewater,' alongside two explosive remixes by underground icons CycheoutsG and Missile Chewbacca. Also included, is the crowd-favorite, mouth-melting acid track '鬼子母神 (Kishimojin)'.

The 12” vinyl, limited to 303 copies on yellow vinyl, features cover art by contemporary artist Yuya Hashizume, whose solo exhibition in Korea (2024) provided the genesis for this collaboration. The A-side opens with their highly anticipated release 'Acid eyewater' which is a hypnotic blend of acid lines and immersive textures. This one's followed by a remix from CycheoutsG, delivering a gritty, back-to-basics acid house reinterpretation that oozes rave nostalgia while staying locked into the underground pulse.

Flipping the B-side, and things get wilder with 'Kishimojin', a new track making waves for its creative use of human voice acid elements, blending haunting vocal manipulations with raw machine funk. The release closes out with a remix by MISSILE CHEWBACCA, one of the more unorthodox figures in the Japanese underground. Their take brings an electro-disco  bizarre vibe, and totally fitting for the project’s outsider ethos.

All in all, this record is a snapshot of a niche but fiercely creative corner of Japan’s underground techno scene. Bold, strange, and undeniably analogue.

'The Summertime Madness EP' - Fresh heat from Paranoid Recordings

 

Paranoid Recordings return this summer with the perfect sun-soaked weapon: the debut 12" vinyl EP from the man like JMT, who's a known name in the Paranoid Recordings arsenal of releases.

This time, JMT delivers four distinct cuts, each showcasing a different side of his sonic identity. The title track opens things up with a big, emotive piano-led anthem topped with heartfelt vocals - a true summer roller. From there, we plunge into a lush, Bukem-inspired 90s jungle breakbeat trip, rich in atmosphere and rolling drums. Next up, it’s straight to the rave with a full-throttle early ‘90s hardcore banger, complete with classic hoovers and that unmistakable energy. And to close things out, we drift into a beautifully textured ambient piece, offering a moment of calm to round off the journey.
