Bloody Mary marks 15 years of Dame-Music with three-part vinyl series

Dame-Music is celebrating its fifteenth year with a new vinyl series, kicking off with Volume 1 on 28 March 2025.

Founded in 2010 by French DJ and producer Bloody Mary, the label has released music from artists like Josh Wink, Boo Williams, KiNK, and Fear-E. It has grown alongside her own two-decade career, which includes a long-standing residency at Berlin’s Tresor and a recent move into fully hardware-based live shows.

The new series launches with four acid-driven tracks from:

Thomas P. Heckmann – Days Of Buzz, a heavy, dancefloor-focused acid cut

Bloody Mary – Fractal Waves, switching between 4/4 and breaks with playful 303 lines

E-Bony – 303 Elements, building into a tense peak with crisp drums and hoover effects

Hardfloor – I’ll Never Own A Helicopter, a euphoric, club-ready closer

Each record sleeve is designed by Philip Mercieca. When combined, all three volumes will form a single collectable image.

Future instalments will include tracks by Ben Sims, DJ Mell G, DEAS, Viikatory, Jerome Hill and more.

Here’s what Bloody Mary had to say:

“It’s been an amazing journey since 2010. Huge thanks to all the artists we’ve released, the people behind the scenes, and every one of you who’s supported the label. You keep the dream alive.”

‘15 Years Of Dame-Music Vol. 1’ is a tribute to the 303 – and to the music lovers who’ve stuck with the label since day one.

Out 28 March 2025 on Dame-Music

Seddig joins Hardgroove with new five-track ‘Neodyne EP’

German producer Seddig lands on Ben Sims’ Hardgroove imprint with a new release out 28 March 2025.

This follows his well-received Hypersolar EP for sister label Symbolism, which gained support from DVS1, Jako Jako, James Ruskin, DJ Bone, and BBC6 Music.

The Neodyne EP builds on that momentum with five tracks that dig deep into modern techno. Each cut explores a distinct mood, shaped by texture, space, and sharp rhythmic control.

Track-by-track:

Neodyne – atmospheric broken beats with a Shackleton-like edge

Gravity Defier – tight 4/4 grooves with grinding, percussive interplay

Sherman Demands – rolling techno with mechanical weight

Tonk – pressure-building intensity made for dark rooms

Altitude (6 O’Clock in the Mornin’, On and Onin’) – eerie and melodic, slowly spiralling

This is a detailed, floor-focused record with range and restraint. Whether it’s the subtle pulse of Neodyne or the peak-time drive of Sherman Demands, Seddig delivers with control and character.

Out 28 March 2025 on Hardgroove

Early support from:
DVS1, Regis, Marcel Dettmann, ANNĒ, Peder Mannerfelt, Radio Slave, Truncate, Mumdance and more

Sidney Charles Returns to Hot Creations with 'Low End Theory'

https://www.beatport.com/release/low-end-theory-ep/4948324

Sidney Charles is back on Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations with a new three-track EP, Low End Theory, out now. This marks his third release on the label, following his 2015 debut with Santé on Forever and his recent remix of Nobody But You by Black Hawks of Panama and Bisi.

The EP kicks off with 'Disco Bumping', a slick house cut featuring Aleya Mae’s smooth vocals layered over warped textures and deep synths. The title track, 'Low End Theory', takes a darker route, locking into a hypnotic groove with rolling basslines that set the tone. Closing the release is 'We Keep On Groovin’, a punchy number built on skittering drums and filtered elements that keep the energy flowing.

Charles has spent 15 years refining his style, releasing on labels like Solid Grooves, PIV, and Eastenderz. His own imprint, House Heavy Society, has brought together artists like Archie Hamilton, Prunk, and Kolter. This year, the label is heading to INPUT at OFF Sonar in Barcelona, The Loft in Manchester, and a US tour.

Low End Theory is out now via Hot Creations.

LBD Sounds Unveils Rico909’s "Rave Tracks 1997-98"

Prague based imprint LBD Sounds is known for its commitment to releasing eclectic and often forgotten gems from across genres and formats. Their latest offering, 'Rave Tracks 1997-98', brings to surface an early collection of tracks from Rico909 – a name oscillating between Italy, the UK, Czechia, and India. However, labeling it as a “new album” might be slightly misleading, as these tracks were originally created when Rico909 was in his teen years during the late '90s.

Handpicked by Olin & Rob, the compilation showcases music from 1998-99, a period where the young producer was experimenting with electronic sounds during his second attempt at music production. His first venture was with Music 2000 on PlayStation, but that tape has unfortunately been lost to time. At the time, Rico909 had little understanding of the world of electronic dance music, but his passion for the genre led him to explore software like Soundforge, Acid Pro, Goldwave, and D-Lusion Rubberduck on his family's first computer.

The tracks are raw, unrefined, and free of form – shaped purely by instinct rather than technical expertise. Without the constraints of commercial appeal or industry knowledge, Rico909’s early creations radiate an infectious energy, driven purely by creativity. There’s a sense of liberation in these tracks, a purity that mirrors a time before digital tools fully defined the sound of modern electronic music. As LBD Sounds releases these forgotten treasures, they remind listeners of the importance of creative freedom – a mindset that remains just as relevant today, both in music and life.

For those looking to get their hands on a physical copy, the release will be available in a limited edition of 50 transparent cassette tapes, with the album also offered in digital format. Also, LBD Sounds will host a special Listening Party on March 26, 2025, at 21:00 (GMT+2). It’s a pretty good chance to join this early, experimental soundscape and discuss the album’s creation.

Cabeabel’s 'Unbreakable EP' on Liquid Flow Records is a dynamic four-track journey that perfectly blends fierce energy with nostalgic flair. The EP kicks off with a heavy Dubstep-inspired intro, gradually shifting into three high-speed Drum and Bass tracks that echo the sounds of the old school.

Unbreakable captures the essence of Drum and Bass, showcasing a perfect balance of hard-hitting beats, melodic undertones, and expert-level production that highlights Cabeabel's unmistakable style.

Flipper - Nah Follow Dem Path [Impact Reset]

Stockholm based producer Flipper has recently dropped his new single, 'Nah Follow Dem Path'. More than just a track, but a powerful statement, this tune combines breakbeats with a deep, raggamuffin influence, while also carrying a message that resonates on a personal and societal level.

In his own words, Flipper speaks candidly about the destructive lifestyle that certain artists are promoting to today's youth. "They glorify violence and easy money through drug dealing, show off extreme luxury, and treat women as objects," he says. 'Nah Follow Dem Path' stands in stark contrast to this mentality, urging young people to resist those harmful messages and to forge their own path in life instead.
"The Swedish rap in the track encourages artists to speak about the good things in life and how to make a change. Some defend their lyrics by saying they depict reality. I get that, but they could also rap about how they would like reality to be, and how to solve society's problems. Extrapolating bad things isn't "depicting reality" - Flipper

Flipper chose to release the track through Impact Reset, a Swedish label that has been a key part of his journey. Sweden, as Flipper points out, is facing a growing issue with youth violence, and he hopes his music can be a catalyst for change. "They were the first label that showed interest in my music when I was starting out," he adds. "This track is a way for me to show my gratitude and make a statement about what’s important."

'Nah Follow Dem Path' is out now available to dtream and buy. It certainly provides a strong message and it's more than meets the eye.

Luv 2 Luv - Kazza

We’ve got another TOTY of 2025  in the flippin bag and it’s only just March bit of bizness for you dear breakbeat’rz .

if you haven’t already heard Kazza’s late February Valentines gift already then stop reading , find your best headphones , click on the BC link below and listen to this three times in a row straight please .

Link to Tune Here !

3 times yes? Not once , not skipping through ? 3 time please , I'll explain why later, thank you for your cooperation it’s appreciated. Now that’s out the way, whaddaya reckon me ansome’s - (note the  was written in the shire of Devon,  sat next to a boat, hence the authentic pirate dialect) Ace innit!

Like all good tunes you discover I had to do a bit of detective work on tracking it down, the thrill of the hunt rewarding the true spirit of exploration into the deep dark jungle of modern bass music  armed only with my trusty smartphone and total lack of self respect/ pride to ask a few questions via the information super highway that is the Bass Scoops Radio Instagram account . (Editors note - nice shameless plug there Scoops )

I first heard this beauty on the  always marvelous Sweetpea’s Deeper Sessions Show on Kool FM  where Kazza was in the guest mix slot, it's a wicked mix btw . I so so so recommend locking into this show regularly  for a new vector of high quality breakbeat orientated  music in you life. Do check out Sweetpea’s interview   on Charlie Fracture's excellent  0860 series too for the  inside line on her shows expert selections  and  her history  in the scene, well worth a listen dear breakbeat’rz.

The groove of this tune undoubtedly owes a lot for its inherent groovy-ness to the sample at its heart ! Geddit luv , heart love, valentines  … yeah ? Borrowing the hook from Donna Summers 1970 famously naughty disco smasher,  Love to Love You Baby this ain’t no tiktok baiting bootleg number, it is a tune  with a complexity  which belies its initial first passing  listen - hence the instruction for a thrice listen sesh at the top of this blog post . From the opening bars of percussion and the whisper of that hook you could be initially fooled this was some Nu-Balearic re-rub, but praise the Holy Winston’s (Amen!) that the break kicks in  sharpish and off we jolly well go!  I’d love to sit down with Kazza and do a interview dissecting  the samples used in this tune, I get the feeling that there is a lot of stuff flipped, twisted and snuck in here a la Liam HowlettThe ever present hook is matched by the off beat bass line, dubbed out guitar kicks, metallic precussion, "special cuddle" noises from the OG (Editors note - keep it clean Scoops this is a family website!) and ragga jungle shout outs  with some  willful abuse of a  gate effect in the vocals  - Oooof!! Indeed. Which all adds up to  give us one of the best jungle rollers you're ever likely to hear this year, Kazza is definitely   one to watch in 2025.

Til next time  dear breakbeat'rz...

DUSH (Polvere) – A Sonic Journey Through Memory and Change

Pre Save - Listen & Buy

https://dush.woutrecords.com

There’s something hypnotic about DUSH (Polvere), the latest release from Sicilian producer Dinkis and Argentine artist Cervan. It’s electronica at its most introspective—less about club-ready drops and more about evoking something deeply personal. The track feels suspended between time and space, where past memories blur with fleeting moments of the present. Built on subtle contrasts—melancholy and warmth, motion and stillness—it pulses forward, carrying fragments of whispered thoughts and unspoken longing. Dinkis’ Italian prose, etched into the artwork, hints at this duality: "I remember and I forget, all at once, all at the same time." It’s a track that breathes, shifting between soft echoes and pounding beats, drawing the listener into its immersive, dreamlike atmosphere.

Cervan’s contribution adds another layer of depth, his Spanish verse slipping in like a distant voice from another room. "Llaves nuevas, mi desorden, (ella) intransitiva, (ella) ostensible," he murmurs, the meaning cryptic but the mood unmistakable. As the track rises and falls, it carries an almost cinematic quality, like a lingering moment of reflection just before dawn. By the time it fades, it leaves behind a feeling of suspension—like holding onto a breath just a second too long. "An unmade bed, sheets on the floor, time that no longer makes a sound," the press notes say, and that’s exactly what DUSH (Polvere) feels like—a quiet, lingering echo, waiting to be heard again.
