A - Up In The Air
AA - Planets & Stars
Planet Justice kicks off its journey with the debut vinyl release from Orestiz, a Stockholm based producer whose work resonates with breakbeat culture’s spirit of innovation and raw energy. Orestiz, whose name evokes ancient Greek mythology, is a producer embedded deep within the heart of the Greek Nu-Rave movement. Known for his outstanding Hardcore Breaks style delivered in various labels like Intensive Recordings, Dred Collective, Strictly Nuskool, Hardcore Lives, and Sharkfin Records, Orestiz is a Prodigy offspring and his style is inspired quite a lot from Liam Howlett's 'Experience' material as well as his breakdance days and classic piano studies. In other words, he is the son of high-energy, uplifting melodies, intricate breakbeats, and occasional nods to nostalgic chipmunk samples that add a unique charm to his sound.
His proud 2-track EP encapsulates the melodic complexity and storytelling that the label aims to champion, making a statement in the Nu-Rave movement with tracks that bridge the uplifting and darker sides of the genre.
Kicking off with 'Up In The Air', which crafts a journey that mirrors the push-and-pull of emotions, navigating the listener through fluctuating atmospheres. It captures a sense of freedom and anticipation and it blends euphoric, energetic highs with shadowy, introspective moments. On the flipside, 'Planets & Stars' takes us on an unpredictable adventure across the galaxy. It marks a wild ride, characterized by pulsating breaks and vibrant melodies that tease and surprise at every turn. This tune has no rules. And eventually the Hardcore sounds have no rules. So, this slammer would remind you a lot of The Prodigy's 'Experience' carrying a playful intensity, full of moments that feel like discovering uncharted territories, allowing the listener’s imagination to soar into realms untold. A serious badboy mission!
Planet Justice’s debut is a significant marker in the genre’s evolution. With Orestiz at the helm, the release is a celebration of the breakbeat movement’s rich history, fused with fresh, exciting ideas and contemporary style. As a fan and supporter of Orestiz’s work, the promise of new adventures within the label’s sound is evident. This EP is an engaging first step into a future full of surprises.
