XTRAHard Records are back again with yet another bumper collection of upfront and uplifting, nuskool rave belters from Pulsar (aka Deadly Nightshade), with the release of the ten track 'Jetwaves' album. It's time for the Strictly NuSkool Blog to put on it's wetsuit and jump on in... 

First off the bat we are introduced to the sounds of 'Pleasure Your Mind', an energetic slice of melodic breakbeat hardcore, further enhanced by energising, arpeggiated synths. Up next we have 'September Dreams', an unashamedly ecstatic piano-rave number jam-packed with electrifying mentasm stabs.

Things go a touch harder with the aptly titled 'Off My Face' which goes full on, headstrong hardcore, with it's use of trance like synth melodies, thundering breaks and expletive laden vocal samples. 'Lift Us Up' delivers some more 'hands-in-the-air' rave goodness by laying down bubbling, euphoric pads and house diva vocal snippets.

Acidic bass notes open up the intro of 'Lost In The Void' before hitting the listener with a heady mix of rolling amen breaks, female vocal samples and gorgeous, uplifting pianos. The electrifying 'Leave You Wanting More' up next drops 'nuff hoovers and stab riffage over roller-coaster breaks and ascending / descending synth patterns.

The Nina Simone sampling (and MC Kinky!) 'New Dawn' hits you with a no-nonsense, hard-hardcore intro before switching things round to deliver some more feelgood vibes. 'Jack It Up' brings the back the focus onto the breaks, by dropping a thundering drum sequence over a moody bassline before unleashing an overwhelmingly powerful and euphoric breakdown. 

With 'Stories', Pulsar digs through some more contemporary vocal samplage to weave together a rush-tastic, melodic hardcore anthem. Bringing the collection to a close and ushering in the sunshine, we have the Summertime vibed 'Jetwaves', a track which expertly melds together disco-house flavours with hardcore in order to ensure that smile's are put on all ravers faces. 

For those of you who love your breakbeat hardcore tinged with a generous helping of euphoric, arpeggio trance riffs, you need look no further than Pulsar's excellent 'Jetwaves' album!!!

Almost unexpected and out of nowhere, Calling The Hardcore surprises us again by putting out a brand new album, almost four months right after the superb triplepack 12" debut.

Calling The Hardcore is a team, a label, a big crew, a neverending party, a mashed up visual & audio angle of hardcore rave and of course all these are summed up again on a second chapter of a brand new triple 12" Vinyl album!
This one's going out to any resident CTH rave dancer & new wave fan of Hardcore following these large events taking place in the Hardcore seaside of Brighton, plus calling even more people to get familiar thus tempted for the new Hardcore sound.

A new course of education about an evolved Break to the Beat, a badboy Jungle Techno tune, a mindblowing melody, or even an illecit but innocent piano rusher.

'Calling The Hardcore Volume 2' is comprised of three 12" Vinyl LPs again, coming also with free digital download plus stickers and Limited Edition Flyer artwork created by the legendary and Oldskool don of Arts, Junior Tomlin.

This album consists of 12 tracks with the likes of some familiar producers to the label of Rave Radio Records, or resident DJs on Calling The Hardcore events in addition to new entries such as the Kniteforce legend Luna-C, then the Aussie based enormous mouse DJ Nee or History of Hardcore brothers Insane & Mind, the ultimate b-boy artist DJ Junk and mr. 140 Junge Breaks Vinyl Junkie from Bristol.

The lineup features also Try Unity, Damage Inc. DJ Jedi, DJ Seduction, TenTun, Ron Wells & Dave Skywalker.

All in all, as you can realise from this amazing dream team of producers, we're dealing with a massive combo of Oldskool & Nuskool heroes all covering how's Hardcore Rave and the real Breakbeat explosion nowdays!!

With 'Spandangle Selection Volume 8' we are presented with two 1994 jungle rarities alongside two brand new re-licks from the man like DJ Pooch himself, available exclusively on vinyl.

The A-Side kicks off with the rare-as-hen's-teeth, Cut & Run Recordings classic 'Love Me Now', a fierce amen break driven slice of '94 junglism, jam packed with feelgood, diva vocals, iconic 'Does Your Man Know About Me' piano section, booming 808 bassline and ruff 'n' rugged, rolling breaks guaranteed to get all lighters raised aloft. 

On the flip-side we are re-introduced to DJ Pooch's dark and dirty 'Baby Baby', which blends together tearing amens with alternating, heavyweight pitched down segments, brooding pads, moody bass notes Big Daddy Kane rap snippets and classic 'Ghetto Heaven' vocals to add a touch of light to the overall moody vibe.

Title track 'Living In The 90's' does exactly what it says on the tin by delivering an adrenaline soaked, retrospective rave-fest of thundering breaks and melancholic keys, before hitting you with a dark, manic stab section midway, which brings back memories of Vibes & Wishdokta's anthemic 'Obsession'.

'Slammer' see us return to the happier side of hardcore by utilising a plethora of diva vocals and pitched up hip hop samplage layered over a booming bassline, electrifying stabs ten-tonne breakbeat section to set your heart pounding!!!

Rounding the collection off, 'Uplifting piano Track' sees us immersed in an a melting pot of breakbeat, happy hardcore staples - thundering kick-drums, tearing amen drum-rolls, helium vocal samples hands-in-the-air piano sections and bubbling acidic squelches to boot. The man behind the mask, taken from his first memoir which came 3 years ago, is about to return to Athens after his phenomenal live set alongside Liquid in Bios,aged 9 years ago.

This time, Mark Archer, the leading force behind Altern-8 is about to invade the decks of Steam Club in Athens promising for an eminent smashing revival of Oldschool hysteria invited by the established Athens team of Sunrise Zone.
Noteworthy to mention that Sunrise Zone is one of the first pioneering party teams in Athens, founded in 1991 and having big guests around that 90's golden era (e.g. The Prodigy, Sasha, Westbam, Laurent Garnier, Opus 3, Judge Jules, Kevin Saunderson, LTJ Bukem, Fabio & Grooverider, Westbam, Paul van Dyk, DjRap, Juno Reactor etc.). All ended in 1999, but the last years they've been doing very often a couple of parties aiming to revitalize the Oldschool memories alongside Athens crowd.
