The legendary jungle veteran, DJ Monk presents the Strictly NuSkool Blog with an exclusive promo of the forthcoming KLP Records release, 'The Sound System Culture EP'. Featuring a trio of heavyweight, junglist anthems from DJ Hybrid, DJ J.T.M and KLP head honcho, the DJ Monk himself.

The 'Sound System Culture EP' opens in a stepping fashion with DJ Hybrid, who brings out the 'Dubplate Sound' with reggae trumpet flares accompanying Reese bass drones, militant 2-step breaks,  and a ragga vocal that will soon become the next junglist 'call to arms' shout out!

DJ Monk then follows up next with 'Gotta' Rock', which fuses together menacing bass growls over a hypnotically moody bassline, all set to a massive rolling breakbeat. 'Gotta Rock' is further accentuated by hip-hop samplage and ragga chatting ordering the listener to 'rock', 'twist' and 'listen to 'dis', as if they would need any encouragement to! 

The DJ J.T.M rounds off this jungle triptych with a head-nodding, reggae vibed number entitled 'Squeeze', packed full of rude-boy bass, air horns, solid breaks and inspirational speech from the legendary reggae/dancehall ambassador, David Rodigan.

CUT002:: FRINGE "Feel The Power Remixes" (NINJA CUTZ)

Canadian Hardcore Junglist like FRINGE was one of the essential producers involved on the latest "Strictly Nuskool Vol.2" Album delivering his powerful 'Feel The Power' tune, which has been reworked in various ways and consists a great remix package on the second release from a fresh label in the scene like NINJA CUTZ!



FRINGE, who's been also signed on KODE 5, HiHeadz, Switchblade Digital and involved on a 7th Storey Project's vinyl release, is signed as a Ninja reworking his 3yr old tune, as it was originally made that time ago, including also some  special features of established Jungle & Breaks producers like Mystery & Kosine, X-Nation,KeeZee, DJ Hybrid, Vital Link, Ikon-B & Crisis.

In overall, this is a proper Jungle & D&B release with big names inside, as NINJA CUTZ have started pretty well their progress, promoting mostly the Jungle sounds and aiming to sign some great soldiers in the scene!

Deep In The Jungle Records continue on with their jungle onslaught with the 'Back To The Jungle EP Part II', featuring 6 roughneck jungle tracks from the cream of today's underground jungle scene.
 
The EP concentrates on the most kinetic, dancefloor elements which made classic jungle tracks from 1994-1995 so potent, from Kartoon's Mary J. Blige borrowing 'Wake & Bake', Evade's dark and dubwise 'Networkz' to Hybrid's hip-hop/dub reggae skankin' 'Puffin Erbz' on the first half. To the classic ragga influenced 'Under The System' by Simply Dread, X Nation's feelgood head-nodder 'Good Life' and final track 'Island Sound (Brian Brainstorm Remix).' by longtime modern jungle revivalist DJ L.A.B. & SICKorWELL, which invokes memories of Smith & Mighty to a 170bpm tempo. There is nothing but pure unadulterated amen break pressure combined with the deepest, filthiest basslines going outside of Jamaica. Expect plenty of chopped breaks, sub and Reece basslines and the choicest reggae/ragga influences going. It's like the jungle explosion of the mid-nineties never stopped!
