The second installment from Exstatic Records delivers another fast-paced and floor-focused selection, offering a snapshot of modern underground jungle with proper nods to the roots and more Bristol vibes that you'd ever expect.
Interlude's Rubix kicks things off with 'Bass Beat Bang' that is a track that lives up to its title. Pumping 303-style acid lines ride on top of punchy, no-nonsense breakbeats, forging a high-octane rave weapon that doesn’t let up. The raw energy here is undeniable.
Sierpinski follows with 'Dunce Twice,' continuing in the same high-pressure spirit. Trademark jungle stabs dart in and out of the mix, lending a frantic edge, while the chopped breaks keep the momentum relentless.
On the flip side, Boca’s 'Platform 2 (Let Freedom Ring)' is a dynamic vibe with a nostalgic but militant atmosphere - like a call to arms from the heart of a concrete jungle.
Closing things off is the Exstatic head honcho, Rudeboy Morris with 'Give Me The Weed', a track driven by classic ragga vocal samples and a sound system mentality. The bass hits heavy and deep. Banger!
All in all, the Exstatic Records continues to push forward-thinking hardcore jungle with a respect for foundation sounds. Their new installment is worth every single penny.
