Manchester heavyweight duet of Earl Grey and Aroma Nice (together a.k.a the boundary-pushing duo Monologue) unite once again for their latest collaborative venture under the 'greek flavored' name, Polymania. Renowned for their adventurous work across the overlapping spheres of modern Drum & Bass, Jungle and Drumfunk, the pair bring their shared sonic language to a record steeped in rave heritage and sharpened by years of joint experimentation.
Their new joint project is officially described as "a euphoric ravey jungle affair with strong acidic inflections, extrovert and dancefloor-focussed, where effortlessly slick percussive flair shines and rolling acid lines squirt out through the seams - the result of two long-time friends with heaps of production experience having a lot of fun."
The opener ‘Farce of Nature’ offers its high-energy stabs and a weighty, grooving bassline. Its roots lie in early ’90s jungle-techno, but Earl Grey and Aroma Nice polish it into high-definition, dancefloor-ready form. A2 is ‘Happy Slaps’ keeps the momentum alive, pairing crisp, agile drums with an undulating resonant acid line. The track embodies the duo’s signature mix of rave exuberance and expert rhythmic craft. On ‘Tank Ammo’, the pair heighten the euphoria, while the closer ‘Give U Up’ eases the tempo slightly and turns up the funk as a proper bouncy acid-breaks bubbler laced with lush braindance melodies and an infectious vocal hook.
To mark this release there's a launch party taking place at Eastern Bloc Records in Manchester on 19th December 2025. Expect the full Monologue chemistry on display as the pair deliver a 6-hour back-to-back. It’s a rare opportunity to catch the duo stretching out, exploring the full spectrum of their influences, and celebrating Polymania in true rave-native fashion. (info)
The Polymania EP comes out on 12 December via Love Love Records on 12" Vinyl and digitally.
