Core Dimension meets Angie Brown on an amazing new 12" Vinyl EP

The very fresh 8th installment so far of the hard working Return of The Vibe label, is one of those records that will not disappoint you at all.
To be precise, we're dealing with the definition of Hardcore Breaks with an uplifting sense that could cause full fire on every dancefloor.
[ROTV008] Core Dimension with Angie Brown - Feel the Power/Feel You
The news is that the legendary queen Angie Brown strikes back, and seems as a priviledge releasing a record driven by her magic voice. Known as the leading vocalist behind the anthemic 'I'm Gonna Get You' by Bizarre Inc. which saw them hit No.2 in the U.K. and No.1 in the U.S. Dance Charts as well as plenty of other classics, Angie Brown meets Core Dimension on two fresh slammers. Feel The Power - Feel You!

Thirty years after the strike of the 1992 Hardcore Breakbeat sound and movement, get to know the contemporary side of techniques and slamming breakbeats. Big Pianos, rave stabs and most of all an oldskool feeling surrounded by a pillar in the 90s voices like Angie Brown.
This highly anticipated and invigorating release comes out in coloured Vinyl and is available to order now via Defstar.co.uk

Listen now to the new single by Rory Hoy

One of Strictly Nuskool Blog favorite heroes is the amazing Rory Hoy.
UK multi award musician/DJ returns with a supreme new single by the title 'What's It All About' released via You Funked Up label.
It's originally a pretty 4/4 funky house banger including some catchy soulful vocals, coming amog a club friendly take over by the man like Saad Ayub who's giving his dark techno-ish twist to the original single.

"What's It All About" is out now and available on major platforms.

The new record of DJ X-cess & Ghost Unit will lift you up

The very fresh offering by Burning Bush Communications presents the massive latest sounds of DJ X-cess & Ghost Unit! And if you're still in doubts about the continuation of the British Hardcore Breakbeat, then try to listen to this firing 4-tracker.
Deep in the underground walking on the moon and it's almost 4 o'clock in the morning...
Well-known oldskool samples are put on modern techniques and the result is an exquisite breakbeat mayhem!

"We first met DJ X-Cess back in 1995 when he was running Atmospheric Records in the Dalkeith Arcade In Bournemouth Town. The photo used on the label is X-Cess behind the counter in his record shop back in the day - long before he founded the Organ Donors with his brother Scott and this shop was a meeting place/melting pot and foundation of the Bournemouth Hardcore scene. We have pressed this record in Atmospheric Turquoise - as close a colour match we could get to the paint on the walls in Atmospheric."

The new breed of Hardcore is right here, delivered once again by the hard working
Defstar.co.uk and you can get that right feeling from the video above where DJ X-cess (a.k.a. Matthew Harris) is cooking up your taste by a known "la da deeLa da dee la dee da"...

Get the debut 12" Vinyl EP by Phoenix Breaks Records

Always a pleasure when there are new labels arriving in the wonderful world of Hardcore Breaks. Or even better, rising up...

M-Bass is the main man that we should focus as additionally to his DJing and rave passion since the early 90s, he is into the modern era of so-called Nu-Rave. He met DJ Nee in the mid 00s, the golden era of Hardcore Breaks; a proper introduction productionwise. Then he did some releases, co-owned Pitch Control Records with DJ Trix till we reach last year when Phoenix Breaks was conceived.
The name of his new physical label.

"The whole aim with the label is to bring a new world of talent into our rave music scene and put new tunes out on vinyl. I feel that records are a very important part of the scene and although digital content is convenient and cheaper, it can be lost whereas with a physical format there's less chance of that happening, so I wanted the label to be a physical format label from the get go. Musically speaking you can expect hardcore breaks, jungle and drum & bass - all made in that traditional 90's style and true to the sound." - Matt recalls.
The debut EP is called 'The Rising' and comes out strictly on limited Vinyl. It includes 4 tracks in total and our personal highlight is a remarkable collaboration between the label manager, M-Bass and the mighty DJ Nee - something that could remind your a bit of the essential mid-00s eruption of Hardcore Breaks. "The tune with Nee is actually an old one. I met Neil in 2005 on the B2VOS forum. At this time I wasn't making music, just playing it. At this time, Hardcore Breaks was in its infancy but was blowing up big time. I asked on the forum about production and Nee very kindly offered to show me the ropes. He spent literally hours on the phone to me teaching me how to use the software, and so on. All this lead up to me asking him if he'd like to make a track together and so that's what happened." - says Matt about his first contact with the mighty Nee.
'Floor Burner' was made way back in 2007 and was supposed to be on my previous label which fell through. I lost the original files for the track after that when my hard drive died and so nothing ever happened with it. Fast forward to 2021 and I started Phoenix Breaks. I asked Nee if he still had the original master and after a few days of him looking on old hard drives, he found it. So that's the story really, the track is 15 years old now so it's amazing for it to finally see a vinyl release. I think it's a pretty cool sounding tune."

And what about the next steps of Phoenix Breaks? Time will tell about the future stuff, going against all odds on what's happening now with the pressing issues.

"The aim for the future is to be consistent with releases. At the moment, the record industry is a different one to how it was before Coronavirus hit the world. As you know, pressing times now are delayed by months and months so all the labels are at the mercy of the pressing plants, which are overrun currently. If we can manage it, we would like to do at least two releases a year and in previous times this would have been possible, but as I said - we are at the mercy of the plants. The next release is ready, and as soon as we've shifted some more of the first EP then we will go to press. For the next EP you can expect some very dark vibes. And when I say dark, I mean DARK!" - adds Matt about the files of his own imprint.

'The Rising' EP is worth every single penny, furthermore it's a pretty good addition to your collection of Nuskool Hardcore. There are still some copies of it available on the link below, just hurry up, before it's too late.

Univer from Germany debut EP on 4 The Core Recordings

London's 4 The Core Recordings are still working their socks off during the first months of this new year. A label that's surprising us all since 2018, has now a brand new signing taken from the established school of Germany.
Univer, was conceived as a solo project in the early days of 90s experimenting into production with a relentless use of Amiga 500, Action Replay MKIII and a Technosound sampler. Now it's been almost 3 decades after and 4 The Core have sealed the deal with the German hardcore head for a new personal material of him.

'Alliance' is the fresh 4/4 stompy mayhem extended play digital release that introduces to us the talent of Univer. As it's already stated, there are more releases coming out from him very soon.

The stompy mayhem begins with 'Drumbeats', a track that uses the sample made famous by SL2 for some fast, relentless upbeat action! It's hoovers all the way on this way with some, shall we say 'out there' piano? It very makes you feel out of this world!
'Hey DJ, Let's do it' is a call to action welded onto some European style mid to late Hardcore. Loads of melody on this one to the point it would go down well with fans of Makina.
'Kick that shit' goes for a slightly tougher Euro-centric feel, heavy on the stabs with a bumpy Eurodance melodic riff underpinning the melodic madness and call and response vocals.
'Roll the drums' swaggers into the rave with claps, heavy kicks, a sped up 'it takes two' break and a distinctly Rotterdam style (Think Chosen Few 'Name of my DJ'). The tune phases out with a bit of an uplift to complete your rave workout!
