Coming straight out of the jungle with a flurry of razor sharp snares and booming 808 bass, bombs the Destroy Oh Boy camp are back to bring you yet another heavyweight selection of devastating junglist bombs with the release of the 'Destroy Oh Boy #2' EP featuring the likes of Aaron Spectre, Dr. Colossus, General Waste & Complicit, Kinsugi and on remix duties, the one and only King of Choppage himself... Remarc!!!
Surgery is open with Dr. Colossus in session alongside junglist Surgeon General, Remarc, as they perform surgical augmentation to bring you the 'Iron Dub (Remarc Remix)', incorporating expertly sliced and diced Amen and Think breakbeats, layered over a thunderous bassline and ragga vocal alterations of dub reggae anthem 'Chase The Devil'. This one's gonna have the dance rammed!!!
Aaron Spectre up next delivers a potent blend of breakcore junglism with 'Respect This Sound' which lures the listener in with it's down-tempo, head-nodding, hip-hop intro before upper-cutting the listener with a barrage of 180 mph amens and subsonic bass booms that'll get your bass-bins shuddering.
On the flipside we are greeted by the glitched up jungle sounds of General Waste & Complict's 'Ruff Rugged An Phat' which pilfers aggressive rhymes from thug-rap pioneers, M.O.P. and layers them over ricocheting, snares and chopped-up amens set to a devastating twisted and morphing, buzzing bass riff.
Bringing the EP to a rousing close we have Kinsugi who drops 'Rust (Instrumental)', which switches things up a touch, stylistically by adding a little bit of half-speed, drum & bass infused, garage experimentation to the mix, whilst still complimenting it's companion pieces with it's use of fragmented breaks, half-speed beats and soaring, heavenly pads.
For those of you who are seeking the most ruffneck, choppage fuelled junglism with an added dose of breakcore experimentalism thrown into the mix, then the Destroy Oh Boy camp more than fulfils those requirements with this tearing collection of jungle gems. Get on the case now!!!
